    1. Description and Operation

    A. General

The jet pipe attaches the engine jet pipe and is produced in seven versions, the assemblies 401, -402, -403, -407, -408, -411 and 412. Equipment specifications of the jet pipe are given below:

    CHARACTERISTICS SPECIFICATIONS

    Length Width Height

    521 mm (20.5 in)

    Equipment Specifications

    Table 1

    B. Physical Description (Refer to Figure 1) The jet pipe is produced in two sections, the forward section and the rear section. The forward section is fitted with a bell end and a female flange. The bell end attaches the jet pipe to the nacelle structure. The female flange is fitted to the lower end of the forward jet pipe. The rear jet pipe is fitted with a male flange and two outer rings. The male flange abuts the female flange joining the forward and rear jet pipe. The rear jet pipe is fitted with a strip and two outer rings. These outer rings provide a support for securing the jet pipe in the engine nacelle. The strip is spot-welded to the end of the rear jet pipe.

    C. Functional Description The jet pipe has been designed to direct the engine exhaust gases clear of the engine nacelle.

    11. Illustrated Parts List

    A. Introduction

    (1) Purpose The purpose of this illustrated parts list is to provide a means of locating and identifying parts of the unit and to facilitate the provisioning, storing and issuing of replaceable parts, in accordance with the approved shop maintenance policy.

    (2) How to use the IPL Illustrations are provided on which the replaceable items in the unit are shown. These illustrations identify the parts by means of item numbers. The physical location and the item number of each part are thus determined by examination of the appropriate illustration. Each illustration is followed by a detailed parts list in which all the parts are listed in item number sequence. From this list the user can obtain the part number, description, usage and quantity of each item.

  • COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL P/N F1107-452

    78-10-03 Page 11 of 14SEP 01/05

The nomenclature is indented to show the relationship to the main assembly. A dash (-) in the Fig. Item column, preceding the number, indicates that the item is not shown on the illustration.

The effectivity codes column gives a letter to each main assembly in

an IPL figure. The same letter then denotes items, which can be used with all non-coded items in the main assembly. Where applicable, vendors are identified by a code number, preceded by a capital V, following the item description in the nomenclature column. The code number is as given in the last issue of the H4/H8 Commercial Activity/Government Entity) (CAGE) data box. The CAGE is also known as the Federal Supply Codes For Manufacturers (FSCM). For detailed information concerning F0N numbers refer to the Standards Manual Substitute and Equivalent List, Technical Handbook (TH)-16.
