Dear Friends,

We wish to invite you to the 1st world championship in Krav Maga, which will take place on

22nd of October 2017 in Jerusalem, Israel.

Jerusalem is one of the oldest cities of the world - the beauty of the city, its history, its rich

heritage, especially the religious and sacred sites were used as a magnet for tourists and pilgrims

of all generations. Jerusalem is one of the strongest tourist attractions in the world, offering a

combination of age-old history, institutions, culture, religion, architecture, archeology and

more.

Jerusalem welcomes delegations of Krav Maga’s athletes who will participate in the 1st World

Championship of Krav Maga - the most important and the biggest event since the establishment

of the World Krav Maga Federation.

World Krav Maga Federation, on behalf of Israeli competition organizers, is looking forward and

is proud to host delegations and athletes from all over the world.

Championship organization committee will do everything to provide the best hospitality and to

ensure the success of this special event. We believe it would be great and a memorable event

for all of us, a moment of brotherhood and friendship, a moment of peace, exchange and

understanding during the competition and after returning back to your home-countries.

Dear friends,

since its creation Krav Maga has come a long way!

Internationally recognized for its relative simplicity, it has been adopted in both civilian and

military field, especially for its effectiveness.

Over the years Krav Maga has increasingly gained more notoriety, precisely because it responds

to current security needs. In fact, beyond the "technical" success of Krav Maga, what most has

vehicle it among the various practiced defense disciplines, it was quite the awareness that in

our societies it is essential to know how defend ourselves, both technically and psychologically.

The fundamental element that has determined also its undeniable success is that the techniques

are tested in real situations and regularly updated by experts. So it is not a "static" discipline,

but in constant evolution.

And it is this element that has motivated myself, Gaby Michaeli and Kakha Basilia to establish

the World Federation of Krav Maga, not to be just another business offering what is already

existing in the world, but to highlight the sporting potential of the Krav Maga as a fundamental

part of a bigger inclusion of Krav Maga in the sporty and social context of our society.

Although the Krav Maga was not born to competitive sports, as it was not even karate or any

other martial art, at the base there is a common denominator: self-defense. However, the

inclusion of these sports disciplines including Krav Maga, as part of the competition keeps intact

their own tradition and in the future more people will be interesting to practice.

Proof of this, it is the French Championship of Krav Maga and especially the International Open

that France organizes this year for the second time and that sees more and more Nations

involved with numerous delegations. In the context of Krav Maga competition, we can give the

name of "Technical Krav Maga" (TKM), in order to identify immediately what it's about.

The WFKM, trusting in the involvement of the many Krav Maga athletes, in October 22, 2017,

organizes the first World Championship of Krav Maga in Jerusalem. The choice of this wonderful

city is not random. Israel is the Country where Krav Maga was born and it is deserved starting

from this place to inaugurate this sports event.

This event is just the first of many other initiatives! The WFKM has already planned others in

various Nations of the world. For example, it is already scheduled for next year, the European

Championship, as well as other national initiatives. Actually, 40 Nations have already subscribed

to the initiative and have joined the WFKM.

An elective congress will be held in October 2017, ahead of the World Championship of

Jerusalem. More details will be provided with the organizational program.

A special thanks those who believe in this project and who joined the WFKM, especially we

would like to thank Mr. Francis DIDIER, President of FFKDA, who has accepted the Honorary

Presidency of WFKM and that will make us share his precious advices that are the result of a

long competitive and political experience.

In the coming days the official website will give you all the information about the activities of

WFKM.

We expect you all on October 22 in Jerusalem to share together this unique and exciting event!

Jerusalem is a city located on a plateau in the Jewish mountains between the Mediterranean

and the Dead Sea. One of the oldest cities in the world, it is considered a holy city in the three

great Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

The part of Jerusalem called the City of David was installed in the 4th millennium BC. In 1538,

walls were built around Jerusalem under Suleiman the Magnificent. Today, these walls define

the old town, which has traditionally been divided into four neighborhoods - known since the

early 19th century as the Armenian, Christian, Jewish and Muslim quarters. The old town

became a World Heritage Site in 1981.

Modern Jerusalem has grown beyond the

boundaries of the Old City.

According to biblical tradition, King David

conquered the city of the Jebusites and

established him as the capital of the United

Kingdom of Israel, and his son, King

Solomon, commanded the construction of

the First Temple. The holiness of Jerusalem

in Christianity, preserved in the Septuagint

which Christians have adopted as their own

authority, has been strengthened by the

New Testament account of the crucifixion

of Jesus there. In Sunni Islam, Jerusalem is

the third most sacred city, after Mecca and

Medina. In the Islamic tradition in 610 CE,

he became the first qibla, the focal point for

Muslim prayer (salat), and Muhammad

made his nocturnal journey there ten years

later, ascending to heaven where he speaks

to God, according to the Koran. Despite an

area of only 0.9 square kilometers, the old town is home to many sites of religious seminal

importance, among them the Temple Mount with its western wall, the Dome of the Rock and

al-Aqsa Mosque, Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Outside the old town stands the tomb of the

garden.

All branches of the Israeli government are located in Jerusalem, including the Knesset (Israeli

parliament), the residences of the Prime Minister and the President, and the Supreme Court.

Jerusalem is also home to some Israeli non-governmental institutions of national importance,

such as the Hebrew University and the Israel Museum with its Book Sanctuary.

Visit of the Old City of Jerusalem. Our appreciation of this Golden City begins with a panoramic

view from the Mount of Olives, overlooking the

walls of the Old City and the ancient Jewish

cemetery. Visit the Church of All Nations.

Proceed to Mount Zion to see the tomb of King

David and the nearby Room of the Last

Supper (Mark 14.13, Luke 22. 10-38, Matt 26

17-29, Acts 1.13 and Acts 2 the Pentecost).

Enter the Old City to begin exploring the

wonders of Jerusalem. Walk through the Cardo,

the main street of Jerusalem 2000 years ago.

View the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

Walk along the Via Dolorosa, where Jesus

carried His Cross. Continue to the Church of the

Holy Sepulcher (Matt. 27. 33-57, 28.10).

Masada – Dead Sea

Departure early by the Judean Desert to the Dead

Sea, the lowest point of the globe at 400 meters

above sea level. Passage in front of Qumran,

where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.

Visit of Masada, a Herodian fortress overlooking

the Dead Sea with its palaces, thermal baths and

warehouses, but also place of Jewish resistance

of the Zealots against the Romans during the

Great Revolt in 70 and the remains on the spot

prove this tragic event.

1th WORLD Krav Maga Championships, which will be held in Jerusalem , 18th to 22th of October

2017, with full knowledge of the Statutes, the Rules and the Norms of the WORLD FEDERATION OF

and I take any and all administrative, civil and criminal responsibilities of whatever happens to our
