Well, 89, it's a short bill and what it provides is that if an

employee was first salaried and then went contractual thak they can

pay into the pension fund and Ehen derive benefits therefrom. At

the present time...

SENATOR WALKER:

I'm sorrye I was khe sponsor of SB 89 and what SB 89 provides

is those that were on salary, for instance, committee clerks, ten:

twelve. thirteen years ago and are now on a contractual basis, can

into the fund. Sometime, as I recall it, during the year 475,Pay

at the present time, if they werea..on a contractual basis and then

Went on a salary basis, they can do this. So, this is merely

putting them a1l...all of the employees in the same category.

It was amended and went into a Conference Committee to change

the date fron '74 to 175.

We were, in fact, familiar with the bill and as Senator

Walker knows I voted for it the firsk time around. The only

objection I did have was that none of us were aware that this

Was going to be called nor did we have any copies. But, there

is no problem with the substance of the bill and I would urge

a favorable vote.

Committee report. The question is shall the Senate adopt the

Conference Committee report on SB 89. And the bill having

received the required constitutional majority is declared passed.

Executive Copmittee and they have informèd me that there will be

substantial number of the personalities that will be around by

would take a liEtle bit of time and they assure me that he will

be there by 1 o'clock. So, with the permission of the Senate and

the members of the Executive Committee, I would like to move up

the time, from 2:15 to l a.m....1 pom. If that is agreeable wité

everybody, everybody will be there on. time, I think that:

possibly, we could be out of there then by 2:30.
