SOMiC G909 7.1 Virtual Sound Effect Gaming Headset
Software Installation for Windows
Note: before software installation please unplug the headset from the computer, the installation process will
ask to connect the headset to the computer when ready.
1. Remember to save all data then close all running application to avoid data loss
2. From windows explorer locate the setup.exe file then double click to start the installation process
Note: This step assumed that you have downloaded the installation file from our support website
www.tniexpress.com and have unzip the installation files to a folder on the computer hard drive.
If you are installing from the included CD then the install will start automatically when you insert the
CD into the computer CD-ROM drive, if the install application does not start automatically, please
double click on the setup.exe file located on the CD-ROM Drive
3. Click the Yes button from on the windows warning dialog box to continue
4. Click Next at the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for 7.1 Sound Effect Gaming Headset dialog box
5. Select I accept the terms of the license agreement then click Next
6. Click Install to continue
7. Plug the Headset USB connector to the available USB port on the computer then click OK
8. Click OK to restart your computer, you have finish the software installation
Important Note:
The software will not install if it could not detect the right headset connected to the
computer, this is as design feature to ensure that only the correct sound driver will be
installed for the right sound controller.
After installation, the software will only run if it is successfully detected the right headset
connected to the computer, the software will not run if there is no headset connected to the
computer.
This is as designed feature to ensure that the virtual sound engine shutoff and won’t interfere
with any sound controller on the computer when the headset is disconnected.
7.1 Virtual Sound Effect Software User Guide
After Windows is up and running, sign in to begin the 7.1 Sound Effect Gaming Headset software
configuration
Locate the 7.1 Sound Effect Gaming Headset Software icon on Windows desktop then double click to
launch the software

You can also find the Somic 7.1 Sound Effect Gaming Headset software from Windows Start Button,
then locate the Somic application folder then click the 7.1 Sound Effect Gaming Headset Link to launch
the software
Main Setting Tab
1. The first application Windows is the Main Setting Tab, notice that the default System Input setting
is 2 CH (2 channels), the DSP Mode button is not selected or not pressed in, the 7.1 Virtual Speaker
Shifter button is not selected, the Sear Sound Max driver button is not selected, and the Output
Mode Analog Output show as 2 speakers
2. Understand your sound setting – The first thing to do is click on the question mark button to learn
about the Sound Channels feature, then follow recommended the sound format and the number of
channels available to setup the headset sound output options
3. Click Ok to go back to the main application windows
4. After you have decided the sound setting for you gaming or music entertainment, select the
number of channel by click the channel drop down list to select the channel of your choice
5. To turn on virtual sound effect click the DSP button
6. To turn on 7.1 Virtual Speaker Shifter click the 7.1 Virtual Speaker Shifter button
7. To turn on the Xear Surround Sound driver click the Xear button
8. Select the Headset from the Analog Output drop down list, click the drop list then select headset
9. To change the virtual surround sound environment, to the right is 7.1 Speakers Shifter control area
a. Hover the mouse cursor over each button to see the button’s description
b. Click on the plus + or minus – sign will move the sound effect virtually closer or father away
from your listening position
c. Click on the circle arrow buttons will change the position of the virtual speakers
d. Click the manual position button to select and move the all virtual speakers manually
e. Click the manual shifting button to manually select and move a virtual speaker position
f. Click the reset button will reset all virtual speakers to the system default setting position
Mixer Tab
1. Volume Control Box
a. Click the button below the Speaker Volume level to turn headset speaker on or off
b. Click then drag the volume level higher or lower
c. Click the button below the Microphone Volume level to turn Microphone on or off
d. Click then drag the Microphone level higher or lower
2. Rec Control Box
a. Click the button below the Microphone level to enable or disable recording
b. Click then drag the microphone level higher or lower
Effect Tab
Take mental note of all the default setting on the Effect Tab
1. From Environment Control box
a. Select the Bathroom sound effect button to simulate the bathroom sound environment
b. Select the concert hall button to simulate concert hall sound effect
c. Select the Under-Water button to simulate under warder sound environment
d. Select the music public button to simulate music play on the street or concert open area
e. Select the More Options then click the dropdown list to select a long list of sound effect
features
2. Environment Size Control box
a. Select the Small button to simulate the virtual listening room space
b. Select the Medium or Large button to change virtual space effect of different room size
3. Equalizer Control box
a. Select the Default, Dance, Bass, Treble, Live, or Rock button … to select the predefine
equalizer option for differ type of music and listening styles
b. Select User defined button to manually setup user listening equalizer options and save the
setting by enter a name for your setting
Karaoke/Magic Voice Tab
1. Click On button to enable or disable the Karaoke control functions
2. Select Microphone Echo and change the Low / High sliding bar to simulate microphone echo level
3. Select Magic Voice option to simulate Monster, Cartoon, Male or Female vocal effect
4. Select Key Shifting option on or off to control music key# level
5. Select Vocal Cancellation to change vocal on off
Information Tab
General Production Information
The Information Tab is mainly for displaying the product revision information such as Product model
name, software revision, driver revision, and hardware revision….
Additional Software Configuration Option
Select or un-select the Information Tab check box label “Show the audio configuration icon in system
tray” will enable or disable the 7.1 Sound Effect Gaming Headset software icon from appearing on the
system tray list.
The system tray is another way you could launch the software by click on the Somic icon.
