IIM Calcutta has reaffirmed itself as a sought after destination for recruiters with a record number of 160
firms visiting the campus for the summer placements out of which 66 were first time recruiters. The
change in placement strategy from the compressed 5-day process to a 5-day process followed by a rolling
process would be an important precedent for the future where the batch size is expected to become even
higher. There has also been a considerable increase in the diversity in terms of sector and geography in
the internship profiles offered. Not only a record number of 219 students got offers to do internship inSlot Zero, but also all 443 students who wished to take offers from the process got placed when the
process culminated. Amidst the global economic downturn, it is nothing short of an achievement.
