Jim Ayars has served congregations in Indiana and Michigan and is currently pastor of the Ventura, California, Church. He was called to serve The Voice of Prophecy as bass singer in The King’s Heralds Quartet, and as a research assistant for the broadcast and Bible School. His post-graduate doctoral studies were in Systematic Theology, emphasizing Evidentiary Apologetics. From these studies, he developed an effective evangelistic series entitled “Foundations for Faith.” He is a member of the Society for Biblical Literature, the Evangelical Theological Society, the Seventh-

day Adventist Theological Society, the Association of Confessing Evangelicals, and is President of the Ventura Interfaith Ministerial Association.

This seminar examines Ellen White’s counsels on how to do this, and explores examples of how the Apostles in their time crossed the barriers to faith in Jesus Christ. Included will be examples of how the Gospel found ancient connections within whole cultures, and thereby transformed them.

BJ Boles serves as the Senior Pastor of the Mountain View Church in Las Vegas, Nevada, which is experiencing incredible Holy Spirit growth. The majority of his ministry has been as a pastor and he has also served as a missionary, teacher and evangelist. His undergraduate degrees are in Religion, Psychology and Behavioral Science from Southern Adventist University. He holds masters and doctoral degrees from Andrews University.

Jose Cortes, Jr., serves as Associate Ministerial Director for Evangelism for the North American Division with responsibility for outreach, transformational evangelism, global mission, church planting, church growth, and “Mission to the Cities” in North America. He earned his Master of Divinity from Andrews University. Next to God and family, his greatest joy and passion come from ministry. Jose has over 25 years of service as pastor, evangelist, church planter, and conference and union departmental director.

Cesar De León is Vice President of the North Pacific Union for Hispanic Ministries, Ministerial, Evangelism, and Global Missions. He holds a Master of Divinity from Andrews University, a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University and a PhD in Marriage & Family Therapy from the School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary. Before coming to his current position, he served for almost 30 years of ministry in the Pacific Union as a pastor and conference ministerial/evangelism director.

She is currently the interim co-lead pastor of Sunnyside Seventh-day Adventist church in Portland, Oregon. Originally from Australia, she is married to Terry Lyndon Johnsson and they love the adventure of a life journeyed with God.

Terry Lyndon Johnsson was the first African-American from the state of Oregon to serve as a member of the United States Air Force Presidential Honor Guard at the White House for three Presidents. His story is nothing short of a miracle, considering he was diagnosed with an extreme case of dyslexia as a young man. He went on to earn two undergraduate degrees, a masters degree, and a doctorate at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC. His full story can be found in his books, “For His Honor” and “Aim High.”

Terry is Vice President of Mission Integration for the Pacific Northwest Region for Adventist Health in Portland, Oregon. In addition, he recently founded a non-profit high school mentoring program called Student Healthcare Leaders.
