Yes, it’s tough, but you can cope with change! Here’s how:So your life is in disarray and you have so many changes hitting you at once. You have a new job at work. You just started dating someone new. You just moved. And not to mention, you decided in the last year to go back to school part time so that you can gain new work skills. Yes, change certainly is tough, but there are many methods to adapt and cope with these changes. Here are seven such ways to deal with change in YOUR life.

1. Walk. Yup, that’s right, I said walk. Walking has been shown to lower stress and improve physical well being. There’s a reason why many experts tout that a healthy body equals a healthy mind – because it’s true, and has worked time and time again. So get outside, enjoy the sun, and go for the 20 minute walk. It will make the changes in your life feel less stressful and you will feel empowered to adapt to life.

2. Share your feelings with friends and loved ones.

Talking with others will let off steam and make you better able to cope with the stressful changes in your life. Remember that new place you just moved to, well, you can bet that many of your friends have been in that EXACT situation, so they can relate and, who knows, maybe they’ll help you unpack.

3. Just say “no”

– feel like everyone is asking you to do something for them. Say “no.” It’s OK, and I promise, they will get over it, eventually. This will free up time for you to work on dealing with the other changes that are taking up your mental energy. This is all about setting your limitations.

Your friends and family are here to look out for you, and so asking for help is not a sign of weakness. 5. Take a (long) vacation To the beach, or Vegas, or across the ocean, it doesn’t’ matter, taking a vacation is a great way to deal with change. This will allow you to gather your thoughts and come up with new ideas to overcome your challenges with these changes. If you can’t afford a vacation, take some time off from your job and just relax.

6. Make a plan sometimes planning ahead is the best medicine. You have a lot going on a once, well, keep a calendar and a notebook and take notes on your progress in dealing with these changes. It will help. Remember, to make a plan A,B,C and D to prevent stress if one plan doesn’t work out.

7. Don’t sweat it At the end of the day, life really is all about change. Just take it day by day, and know that if you just keep at it, and look at the big picture, you will be sure to overcome these changes and adapt to your new life.
