1. Have a clear goal in mind and make sure a giveaway supports it.
2. Know your audience; where to find them, what they talk about online and who influences them.
3. Know your platform; get to know its policies and restrictions.
4. Contest rules and regulations are necessary, make them clear and easy to understand.
5. Timing is important: launch your contest when your audience is online.
6. Make it easy for users to participate and for influencers to spread the word.
7. Metrics are important; always track and report.
