7 Steps to STOP BULLYING
Welcome! I am thrilled you decided to download my Anti-Bullying Guide.
Children today are faced with countless pressures and negative influences.
One of the most impacting is the Epidemic of Bullying, with the most
severe incidents beginning in middle school. In my 32 years of teaching
safety, awareness and self-confidence skills, and special education at the
secondary level, I have witnessed Bullying from minor to severe, including
with weapons.
Innovative and creative effective training must be taught to children and
teens, for them to possess the necessary vital life skills to Eliminate and
Prevent Bullying.
The Objective of the Bullies Be Gone! Project is: Self-Empowerment
Training for Children and Teens That Prevents and Protects Against
Bullying.
Self-Empowerment! For a bullying problem to be permanently eliminated,
the child or teen must be the catalyst in making it happen.
STEP 1 – AWARENESS AT ALL AGES
• 95% of children and teens are not as AWARE of their surroundings
as they should and need to be.
• AWARENESS applies to BULLYING and SAFETY in general for
children, teens, and adults.
• The overwhelming majority of Bullies have characteristics easily
recognizable if a child or teen is trained in methods of immediately
identifying them.
• 99.9% of the time, when a Bullying incident occurs, especially at
school, there is no adult around to immediately keep the child or teen
safe from verbal or physical harm. Adults appear after the fact.
• CYBERSPACE AWARENESS SKILLS are vital for children, teens,
and adults to possess knowledge of.
• ROLE PLAYING AWARENESS BULLYING SCENARIOS must be a
necessary component for children and teens to Effectively Eliminate

and Prevent Bullying. In our program, realistic Role Playing is a
primary component of the training.
KEEN STREET & ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS today is vital for
children, teens, and adults. Children and teens at some point in their
young lives, WILL NOT be under the protective umbrella of their parents
or responsible adults. They will have to fend for themselves in the real
world which is often cruel and disrespectful, whether by child, teen, or an
adult BULLY.
STEP 2 – BODY LANGUAGE TRAINING
Today, children, teens, and adults alike display poor body language as they
go about their daily routines with their eyes glued to an I-phone or some
other electronic device. (This is poor body language, as well as lack of
environmental awareness)
Because of poor body language, the BULLY has a much better chance of
succeeding with his/her inappropriate intent.
• Children will role play specific body language drills – standing, sitting,
and walking.
• Children’s body language will be evaluated by instructor’s and by
other children and teens during training. (How are seeing their
peers?)
• Instructor will tell real life stories where BODY LANGUAGE came into
play and the results that favored the CHILD and the BULLY.
• Children will learn the importance of BODY LANGUAGE and how it
applies to the BULLY and their safety in general (Proper Body
Language applies to ADULTS also)
The way a child, teen or adult appears to the universe could be the
difference in being approached or not by a Bully wishing to cause
Emotional or Physical Harm.

STEP 3 – POETRY SELF-EMPOWERMENT TRAINING

“Words are very powerful: They can Empower, Build Self-Confidence,
Inspire & Heal!
My Difference Is My Strength
Children will be asked to explain the main theme and if there are any
hidden message/s in this illustration & all training illustration in the
program.
The following poem, with this illustration is one of 79 illustrations and
training poems in the program to Empower children and teens with SELF-
EMPOWERING WORDS, ACTIONS & KNOWLEDGE designed to build
SELF-CONFIDENCE & SELF-ESTEEM. This empowerment effectively
enhances the ability to Eliminate and Prevent children and teens from
becoming a victim of BULLYING.

Children and teens must learn and recite the following poem (As well
as all poems) with CONVICTION and DETERMINATION.
On a DVD, produced for the Bullies Be Gone! Project, a 9-year-old young
boy is giving his vocal rendition of the following poem totally from memory.
His presentation is IMPACTING, SELF-EMPOWERING, and VERY
BELIEVABLE!
MY DIFFERENCE IS MY STRENGTH
The difference in the way I look, walk, talk, or what I prefer in life is not my weakness. Because of your misguided and intolerant beliefs, you need to know, my difference is my strength.
I'm not ashamed of who I am. No matter how many nasty things you say about me, my head will be held very high. My difference is my strength.
Unfortunately, you must live with your ignorance and hate. Unless you change, you'll carry that heavy burden for the rest of your miserable life.
That heavy load will eventually wear you down. You'll be stuck in quicksand, slowly sinking, as time rapidly passes you by.
You'll never be the good and kindhearted person you could have been. You'll never experience the brilliance of humankind.
My difference is my strength. I'm happy with and proud of who I am. My strength lies in my heart and mind.
Your needless criticism of me and others too, for no viable reason, shows how shallow a person you really are.
My difference is my strength. Do you even have the slightest clue that your nasty tone unnecessarily, goes way too far?

My difference is my strength. However, you're not a lost cause. I truly believe there's still a sliver of hope for positive change, longing to come out, somewhere deep inside you!
If somehow, you haven't clearly understood the powerful message to you I've sent.

STEP 4 – ANTI-CYBERSPACE BULLYING TRAINING
Children, teens, or adults when confronted with a Bully Situation Online or in person must know:
• Specific Words to say or post as a response to the negativity
• How to say those Words (Effectively with Conviction & Determination)
• When and When not to say the Words
• What actions to take after saying the Words
• When and how to take actions
• How to become creative and empowered with their own Words in addition to the Words, Phrases, Stanzas, and the Poems they learn in the Bullies Be Gone! Project

Children will be better positioned to effectively fend off rumors online and the negative effects rumors can have with this knowledge. Children will begin to improve their knowledge of the importance of who they really are as a person.
Children and teens will learn the importance of always maintaining internal self-pride and mental toughness, no matter what anyone says negatively about or directly to them.
The following is VITAL & NECESSARY to be embedded in children’s and teens’ Mindset:
“WHAT SOMEONE SAYS ABOUT YOU OR TO YOU, NO MATTER HOW HATEFUL, NASTY, OR VICIOUS IT MAY BE, YOU CANNOT ALLOW THIS TO BE THE DETERMINING FACTOR THAT MAKES YOU FEEL INSIGNIFICANT, SAD, AND UNIMPORTANT!”
“THE FINAL RESULTS OF WHAT WAS UNNECESSARILY AND INAPPROPRIATELY SAID TO YOU IS DETERMINED BY HOW YOU ALLOW THE NEGATIVELY TO AFFECT WHO YOU REALLY ARE AS A PERSON!”
“NO ONE HAS THE POWER TO MAKE YOU FEEL LOUSY, DEFEATED OR HOPELESS, UNLESS YOU ALLOW THEM TO HAVE THAT POWER OVER YOU!”
Children and teens must Remember this for the rest of their WONDERFUL & VERY SIGNIFICANT LIVES!

These Techniques and WORDS, along with more to follow, if learned well,
practiced, and retained, will increase the likelihood that children and teens
will be successful in Eliminating and Preventing Cyberspace and other
forms of Bullying.
RUMORS ON LINE
The rumors on line about me, coming from you, are lies and you know it.
Are you spreading rumors because you’re actually jealous of me and this is how you’ve chosen to show it?
Come on, is spreading vicious, stupid rumors the best you can do?
You are trying to destroy me, but the truth is, in the end, your lies are going to destroy you.

If your intent was to make me feel bad about myself, with rumors spreading all over the internet,
Congratulations, you initially succeeded, but I refuse to go into a shell-of-shame because of you. I now declare your rumors meaningless at best.
You see, my parents and others that care about me have helped me find my inner strength that was stuck in quicksand.
I looked in the mirror one day and decided no one can destroy me unless I allow him or her to. Moreover, I should be quite proud of who I am.
So, I strongly suggest you cease spreading your rumors and lies about me or anyone else throughout cyberspace.
Your rumors on line have no clout any more. I declare them baseless and empty threats. In the real world of decent, good, and respectful people where I live, your rumors have no place.

STEP 5 – MENTAL TOUGHNESS TRAINING
The following important lesson is designed to help children and teens begin
to understand the power of their Mind and how they must develop
Toughness of the Mind to eliminate or prevent Bullying.
The bully uses nasty words with the intent of destroying self-confidence,
self-esteem, and weaken the victim’s mind. This occurs face-to-face or
online. If the bully is successful, children and teens could have
unpleasant and unhealthy thoughts lasting a very long time.
Specific Words and Actions (Role Playing) can empower and weaken
the bully’s negative hold. The intent is for the bully to clearly see the child
or teen as no longer a victim or potential one. Displayed Mental
Toughness EMPOWERS, Enhances Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem
a Bully CANNOT PENETRATE OR DEFLATE. (Children and teens learn
these skills in our comprehensive program)
CHILDREN AND TEENS MUST BELIEVE THEY ARE EMPOWERED and
continue to become even mentally stronger as they grow and develop.
CONVICTION & BELIEF training will take place.
Reinforcement to children and teens: For the remainder of their lives,
no matter the circumstance, they should never forget and always believe
they are and must be MENTALLY TOUGH! (Children and teens are taught
how this MENTAL TOUGHNESS can be applied to their academic skills)
NO ONE can take your Mental Toughness away unless you ALLOW
THEM TO DO SO! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO ALLOW THAT TO
HAPPEN!
Children and teens should continue to do the following:
1. Study the poems, memorize specific powerful words, stanzas and the entire poem. By doing so, they will become EMPOWERED and the Bully will become weaker and ineffective in their eyes and more importantly, in their mind.
2. Each poem contains WORDS & PHRASES to empower & send
powerful defeating messages to bullies, and powerful messages to

bullies to IMMEDIATELY CEASE THEIR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR.
Poems should be discussed with parents and teachers. Children and teens should express their point of view of the poems and ask parents and teachers to express theirs. Everyone learns by doing so.
Study the illustration of each poem carefully before and after reading it. There may be hidden messages in each illustration, some that may come to light after reading the poem.
Children will be asked to explain the main theme and if there are any
hidden message/s in this illustration.

MY MENTAL TOUGHNESS
My mental toughness wasn’t anywhere to be found when you started
bullying me.
I didn’t think much of myself; your bullying made me feel small and weak.
I spent a lot of time being angry and crying. I didn’t laugh like before, not
very much at all.
You were winning, and what little pride I had left was sinking fast. I felt
like banging my head against the wall.
Then my parents told me that bullies might be physically strong, but
mentally they are very weak.
They told me to develop my mental toughness, and by doing so, I could
easily defeat the bully.
So, I started thinking and really believing I was strong, in body and mind.
And you know what? The more I thought about being mentally tough, the
more confidence I seemed to find.

Mental toughness is a powerful tool that all kids should develop, have, and
constantly use.
If a bully happens to come into your space, the bully will see, sense, and
feel your mental toughness. The bully will know if he/she tries bullying you,
they cannot win, no way! The bully is destined to lose.

MENTAL TOUGHNESS VOCABULARY LESSON: Pride, sinking,
develop, constantly, sense, destined – Ask the class what these words
mean and discuss how the words relate to the theme of the poem.
Have the child or teen explain the phrase and question: Physically
Strong, but Mentally Weak & What does being Mentally Tough mean?
STEP 6 – PHYSICAL FITNESS TRAINING
• Children today, as well as many adults, are not as physically fit as
they can and should be.
• In many cases, poor diet plays a role in lack of fitness.
• Advancing technology plays a role in lack of fitness.
• Attitude and Mindset play an important role in lack of fitness.
• Listlessness and Lethargy play an important role in lack of fitness.
When children are physically fit or in the process of becoming fit,
along with the overall comprehensive Bullies Be Gone! Project
training, the following will likely be the results:
• Children’s overall self-confidence and self-esteem will improve.
• A BULLY will be hesitant in approaching children with the intent of
taking advantage of them, if they display powerful self-confidence and
self-esteem.
• Children are better able to think quickly and to make decisions
favoring them and not the BULLY, if they are physically fit.
• A physically fit child or teen will more than likely become a physically
fit adult.

• Results from numerous studies on those that consistently exercise
conclude: The child, teen, or adult, will likely live longer, barring any
unforeseen medical conditions or accidents.

As a component of the Bullies Be Gone! Project training, adults will
learn and then teach children and teens physical fitness training as a
vital ingredient of the program, after being certified by Al Johnson.

NOT PHYSICALLY FIT YET?
True, I ‘m not physically fit as I would like or need to be.
But because I’m not, that doesn’t give you the right to bully me.
If you were in my place, you wouldn’t like to hear the things you say and do to me.
I’m telling you to stop now with your bullying; I’m as fed up with it as can be.
Yes, to your surprise, I’m standing up to you. You will not bully me anymore.
I don’t care how tough you think you are. I’m no longer afraid of you, not anymore.
You see, bullies like you really have very little self-confidence. Actually, you’re really a weak person inside and out.
Bullies look for an easy victim, someone they can control and dominate. That’s why you chose me and for a while I gave you that needed clout.
As of today, your power is a big zero when it comes to me. As far as I’m concerned, you’re just all wet.
Thank you! You have actually given me the inspiration to shape up and be quite proud of who I am, even though I’m not physically yet.

STEP 7 – APPLICABLE SELF-DEFENSE TRAINING
INTRODUCTION OF BASIC SELF-DEFENSE TRAINING – A person does
not have to study self-defense for many years, unless they choose to. In
today's society, learning basic self-defense techniques that could prevent
anyone from becoming an easy victim is a wise decision to make for the
entire family.
Knowledge of simple, BUT EFFECTIVE self-defense techniques applicable to THE STREETS should be learning tools for the entire family, especially children and teens confronted with a PHYSICALLY THREATENING BULLYING encounter.
These skills are to be used primarily for Controlling or Escaping purposes ONLY.
Mental Self-Defense is always a component of Physical Self-Defense
The Physical Self-Defense skills in our program are for Escape and Controlling purposes ONLY!
• FIGHTING is NEVER the first choice in the Bullies Be Gone! Project training for eliminating or preventing a bullying problem.
• However, 99.9 percent of the time when a child or teen is being bullied, there is NO ADULT on the scene to help. The adult appears after the fact.
• A push, shove, aggressive grab, punch, or blunt instrument strike to an innocent child/teen can occur within a split second, and almost always does.
Children and teens should know effective ways to escape from or control (if necessary) an aggressive physical encounter with a bully, until a responsible adult is on the scene, or notified in some way.
The following mathematical formula of Physics applies to Physical Self-Defense in a major way:
Mass x Acceleration = Force (Will be Demonstrated, Explained, and Practiced in our comprehensive training)

Knowing how this formula applies to the Human Body and the delivering of Self-Defense Techniques is Critical.
Let's break the formula down:
Mass: Is a person's body weight that can be increased at the precise moment of delivery of a self-defense technique if one knows how to do so (Applies to children, teens, and adults)
Acceleration: Is the speed in which the self-defense technique is delivered
Force: Is the impact of the delivery of the technique
Objective: Students will learn how to increase the Mass, Speed & Force for maximum effect when delivering a self-defense technique to escape from or control a Bully.
Instructor will reinforce:
Physical Self-Defense should NEVER be used as a FIRST RESPONSE, UNLESS there is no other choice to avoid physical harm by a BULLY. This includes the option of “EMERGENCY RUNNING SKILLS” to escape the threatening scene. “EMERGENCY RUNNING SKILLS” will be taught to children and teens in our program.
Children and teens need to know specific physical techniques to use against a BULLY, if they have no other choice. The skills taught are designed to be applied quickly, (in a matter of seconds) creating the ELEMENT OF SURPRISE, which presents a better opportunity to strike effectively and retreat.
Children and teens are taught to Control, Escape, or Strike Effectively and QUICKLY RETREAT! (Immediately seeking a responsible adult’s attention and help)
