1. Balsammand Lake

Only 5 kilometres from Jodhpur, this beautiful

lake is nestled at Jodhpur-Mandore road. Gurjara

4. Gulab Sagar Talab

Beautifully designed in 1788 by Gulab Rai who

was a mistress of Maharaja Vijay Singh, the

lake is actually a storage facility. It gets its

water via one of Balsamma d lake’s ca als. It lies in the old city area and is only 6 kilometres

from Jodhpur city. It is a marvellous place of

tourist attraction.

5. Tapi Bawdi

Tapi Bawdi is more of a dam than a lake, but its

magnificence is unparalleled. Built in 1675, Tapi

Bawdi acts as the chief source of water in the

city. It is located at Hatdiyon Ka Chowk and is 250

feet long and 40 feet wide. The dam cum lake

features 6 artistically designed storeys.

6. Ummed Sagar Talab

Lovely to explore, this little lake called Ummed

Sagar Bandh is actually a dam located in close

proximity to Jodhpur. It lies near to famous

Kaylana Lake and provides water to Shahpura.

Its history of construction dates back to 1933

by Maharaja Ummed Singh.

7. Ranisagar-Padma Sagar Lakes

Ranisagar and Padma Sagar lakes are twin lakes,

lying adjacent to each other, merely 5

kilometres away from the city. Built five

hundred years ago, these two lakes rarely drive

out of the water though the area is parched and
