9. Get The Most From Your GPS Snitch To get the best possible functionality out of your GPS Snitch we recommend the following:

Fine-tune the Hiding Place GPS accuracy may vary depending on how much GPS signal reduction results from placement location in your vehicle. Tracking performance may be optimized during installation by choosing a less obstructed location within your vehicle. GPS signal levels can be monitored in the Advanced section of the location info bubble on the Tracking page of your Snitch login. Consult the GPS Snitch Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

Vehicle Charger This charger plugs into your vehicle’s Auxiliary 12 volt Power Outlet enabling you to charge your GPS Snitch on the go. Great for very active users who may forget to periodically charge GPS Snitch.

Hardwiring Cable This cable allows you to hardwire your GPS Snitch directly into your vehicle’s power system. There are a number of improvements to the operation of GPS Snitch including:

1. Keeping your GPS Snitch charged at all times

2. Faster reporting of locations from GPS Snitch – 2x faster location turnaround times (15 seconds typical*)

3. Even better performance from the UltimateSense™ GPS tracking technology within GPS Snitch. Tracking sensitivity increases compared to using GPS Snitch on battery power, allowing the system to receive even weaker GPS signals. This enhances operation in challenging areas of GPS coverage, such as inside your garage or parking garage.

4. For colder winter climates, improved low-temperature operation – down to -30º Celsius!**

* Depends on overall GSM/GPRS network latency and GPS Snitch server activity

** Improved low-temperature performance for interior-only installations. GPS Snitch should not be installed on the exterior of a vehicle.

10. Remote Text Message Control

2. Charging Your GPS Snitch Once registered, begin charging your GPS Snitch near a window with the wall charger (included). When plugged into the charger, the green power indicator (LED) will blink 3 times within a few seconds to indicate that your GPS Snitch is charging. A full charge will take approximately 5 hours.

It is important to charge your GPS Snitch near a window, this allows the UltimateSense™ to locate and download important data from the GPS Satellites. Once your GPS Snitch is online, you are able to view your battery power on your “Snitches” homepage. The initial GPS Information download to the GPS Snitch unit, may take up to 45 minutes.

1. Register Your GPS Snitch Go to www.gps-snitch.com to register your new GPS Snitch! If you do not have an account, please create a new user account. If you have an existing account, log in, under “Snitches” and select “Add Snitch”. On the back of your GPS Snitch you will find the “Unit ID” and “Activation Code” required to register, follow the activation instructions.

3. Using Your GPS Snitch

Turning it on Once you have received your activation confirmation e-mail and your GPS Snitch is fully charged, turn your GPS Snitch on by pressing the power button once. The green power indicator will begin to blink indicating it is locating the wireless network. When the indicator changes to solid, it has been located and logged onto the network.

(Your GPS Snitch must be powered on before you can arm it.)

Arming Once your GPS Snitch has logged onto the wireless network you can arm your GPS Snitch by pressing the arming button. The Red arming LED will begin to blink. Your GPS Snitch is fully armed when the Red LED changes to solid after a 60 second arming delay.

Upon arming, your GPS Snitch becomes motion sensitive. If motion is sensed, it will notify you via Email or Text Messages. (See “Receiving Alerts”)

(As GPS satellites are located, the Arming LED will blink multiple times depending on the number of Satellites located. For Instance, 6 blinks indicates 5 satellites are located. Also reference to the Sleep Mode section in this manual) Your GPS Snitch does not need to be armed to enable the tracking features.
