Blended Learning

The Blended Learning initiative is about transforming teaching and learning.

All 6th grade students will be assigned a device.

Devices act as an essential resource to support instruction in the learner-centered environment.

Device is taken home with children and charged nightly when attending in-person.

Attendance and Grading

• Attendance will be taken daily for every course.

Student engagement on Wednesdays will be monitored

by student sign ons to Schoology.

• Send an email to the homeroom teacher if your child is

absent with the explanation.

• Grades will be based on a body of evidence from minor

and major assignments.

• Deadlines for assignments and assessments are

determined by the teacher.

• Encourage your child to communicate first with

teachers about deadlines or assignments.

Virtual Student Orientation:

Friday, September 4th

8:30am – 11:30am

Sign on to BCPSOne.

Select Schoology Tile

Select course for Mod (Period) 1 on the student schedule

Retrieve the nickname for the google meet course for Mod 1. Copy it.

Go to Instructional tools tile

Choose Google Drive. Be sure your child is signed on with BCPS credentials.

Hover over 9 squares beside the student’s name and select Google meet icon.

Enter nickname of google meet to join the class. Repeat for other courses throughout the morning.
