Welcome to Week 4 Term 2. A huge thank you to our ‘Home Learning’ parents who have undertaken the enormous task of supporting the learning of their children at home, whilst in many cases still juggling their own work commitments, cooking, cleaning etc. You should be very proud of all you are doing. We hope that as we enter Week 4, the children are getting into a routine for their home learning. We are adding the weekly programs to the school website under the ‘Home Learning’ tab. We trust this is convenient, consistent and working well for you. Congratulations to all the staff and students in Years 3-6 for commencing online video Google Meet sessions in Week 3. There were a couple of minor challenges getting children connected but by far the positives outweigh the negatives. We ask that you remain patient if something goes wrong… this is new to most of us. The Foundation to Year 2 students are starting their online Google Meet sessions this week. Staff will invite the children and will have sent directions on how to get online. Again, if something doesn’t work it is OK. A staff member will be in contact to reschedule or assist or just send them an email via the ‘homelearning’ email address for your child’s teacher. This week we are introducing a ‘Catch Up Day’ on Friday. The reason for this is to give families a bit of a breather, to allow students to catch up on any work they may not have completed, and to allow students who are up to date to explore some of the online learning sites or optional activities mentioned at the end of the planners. This is a day to look back on what you have done and to enjoy having a little less pressure for the day. Mother’s Day will take place at the end of Week 4 on Sunday May 10th. We wish all our mothers a very happy Mother’s Day. We hope that having the children home this week will allow them to make you something very special or to draw a very detailed picture that can be shared with you on Sunday. Have a great week everyone. Michael and Staff

When the disciples

filled with joy. They knew that

He had truly risen. They now

knew that they needed to

begin spreading His word and

teachings. One of the

qualities that Jesus had was

the kindness he showed to

others. In this Emmaus story

we hear of the kindness that

the disciples showed towards

Jesus by inviting him to eat

with them even before they

recognised that he was

Jesus.
