Kolejna rocznica poświęcenia naszego kościoła Sanktu-

aryjnego w roku 1966 jako wotum Narodu Polskiego za

1000 lat chrześcijaństwa w Polsce przypomina nam o dobroci

Boga. Bóg w niezmierzonej swej dobroci prowadził naród

Polski niełatwymi drogami zarówno w pierwszym, jak i w

drugim tysiącleciu chrześcijaństwa. Bóg w swojej nieskońc-

zonej miłości prowadzi każdy naród drogami, które mu wy-

brał. Tu w Amerykańskiej Częstochowie jesteśmy tego świad-

kami, świadkami modlitwy wdzięczności za wielkie rzeczy,

które Bóg nieustannie dla nas czyni. Szczególnie w tym mie-

siącu październiku, miesiącu różańcowym słyszymy słowa

pozdrowienia anielskiego w tak wielu językach po-

łączonych jednym – miłością do Boga naszego Ojca i

do Maryi naszej najlepszej Matki.

Another anniversary of the dedication of our

Shrine church in 1966 as a votive offering of the

Polish nation for 1000 years of Christianity in Poland

reminds us of the God’s goodness. Almighty Father in his im-

measurable kindness led the Polish nation difficult ways in

both the first and in the second millennium of Christianity. God

in His infinite love of leads every nation the ways that He

chose them. Here at American Czestochowa we are witnesses

of this, witnesses of gratitude prayer for the great things that

God makes us constantly. Especially in the month of October,

the month of the Holy Rosary we hear the Angel's greeting in

many languages combined into one - the love of God our

Father and to Mary - our the best Mother.

Życie ludzkie rzadko przebiega bez

konfliktów i zagrożeń. Zazwyczaj musimy

stawić czoła wielu przeciwnościom, przez-

wyciężyć wiele zła, by spełnić swoje ży-

ciowe powołanie.

Czy rozmawiamy o tych trudnościach

na modlitwie z Bogiem?

Podobnie jak w życiu Chrystusa, tak i w

życiu każdego chrześcijanina modlitwa nie

może być czymś marginalnym, jakimś do-

datkiem do pracy i życia, chwilowym

wzlotem ku Bogu. Ona ma być naszą

postawą życiową, wyrazem naszej istoty,

dowodem naszej wiary, owocem prawdzi-

wego nawrócenia, stylem życia i drogą ku

Bogu. Wówczas Chrystus będzie nam to-

warzyszył na naszych ścieżkach. Ukryty,

bo on działa dyskretnie, ale będzie szedł

z nami.

Idąc z Chrystusem, nigdy nie jesteśmy

sami. A gdy nasza droga biegnie pod

górę, idziemy tą drogą, którą On

prowadzi nas do zbawienia, zbliżamy się

w stronę wzgórza Golgoty. To jest istota

naszej wiary.

Nieraz byśmy chcieli, żeby Jezus doko-

nał efektownego cudu, żeby przemienił

nasze ścieżki, żeby coś się wydarzyło w

życiu każdego z nas, w historii Polski.

Żądamy cudu tak natychmiast, na za-

wołanie. A On nie przemienia. Krzykliwych

zostawia krzykliwymi, kpiarzom pozwala

trwać w dobrym samopoczuciu, a tym,

którzy mają serca otwarte i wsłuchują się

w Jego głos, okazuje łaskę i pozwala

spojrzeć na świat z innej perspektywy.

Uczmy się Chrystusowego stylu dzia-

łania, uczmy się od Chrystusa prawdzi-

wej kultury ducha. On przyszedł na świat

po to, by nas przemienić i prowadzić do

Ojca.

What can a shameless and unjust judge

pitted against a crusty and pestering woman

teach us about justice and vindication in the

kingdom of God?

Jesus tells a story that is all too true — a

defenseless widow is taken advantaged of and

refused her rights. Through sheer persistence

she wears down an unscrupulous judge until he

gives her justice. Persistence pays off, and

that's especially true for those who trust in God.

Jesus illustrates how God as our Judge is

much quicker to bring us his justice, blessing,

and help when we need it. But we can easily

lose heart and forget to ask our Heavenly Fa-

ther for his grace and help. Jesus told this par-

able to give fresh hope and confidence to his

disciples. In this present life we can expect trials

and adversity, but we are not without hope in

God.

The Last Judgment will reveal that God's jus-

tice triumphs over all the injustices perpetrated

by his creatures and that God's love is stronger

than death (Song of Songs 8:6). The just can

look forward with hope to that day when they

will receive their reward.

Jesus ends his parable with a probing ques-

tion for us.

Will you and I have faith — the faith that

perseveres to the end — of time when Jesus

returns in glory to judge the living and the

dead?

Faith is an entirely free gift that God makes

to us. If we want to live, grow, and persevere

in the faith until the end, then we must nourish it

with the word of God and ask the Lord to in-

crease it (Luke 17:5).

When trials and setbacks disappoint you,

where do you place your hope?

Do you pray with expectant faith and con-

fidence in God's merciful care and provi-

dence for you?
