Help build your grandchild into a condent, strong and caring individual. Play alongside your grandchild with this one of a kind opportunity. Each experience fosters important relationships through an interactive setting with the focus on the 7 Dimensions of Wellness: Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, Intellectual, Social, Environmental and Vocational. Each camp is a 4- week session mee ting every Wednesday from 10 a.m.-1 2 p.m. Adventure Camp Ages 8–15 July 6 – Life’s a beach! Sand castle building contest and beach play day! Team up with your grandchild and build a sand castle. Beach soccer, Frisbee and all kinds of fun! Dress comfortably and bring a swimsuit, towel and sack lunch if you would like to make a day of it. Note: Access to the Millennium Park splash pad and beach are optional and at the grandparents expense (daily entrance fees are $3.00 per senior and $2.00 per child. If you wish to stay and rent a kayak for an extra hour, you are welcome to enjoy that from their boat house for an additional charge. Location: 1415 Maynard Ave. SW, Walker, MI 49534. July 13 – Let’s go shing! Experience a guided journey through the woods identifying birds and other things found in nature, as well as work on a nature craft together. We will also be shing together! Please bring a shing pole for you and your grandchild. We will supply the worms! Location: Whistle Stop Park, 2120 76th St., Byron Center, MI 49315 July 20 – Let’s go bowling! We will meet at Clique Lanes at 10 a.m. for an hour of bowling and activity. Location: 533 Stocking Ave. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504 July 27 – Let’s go blueberry picking! Pick as many blueberries as you would like. You are responsible for the cost. We will create a delicious treat with some of our pickings. August 3 – Not your average zoo!

Located on 80 acres, Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park is a unique, hands-on experienfor the entire family. The park boasts a distinct collection of exotic animals and reptand the variety and dynamic atmosphere make Boulder Ridge anything but your aveage zoo. Cost is $8 per ticket.

August 10 – Down on the farm!The Critter Barn raises a variety of domestic farm animals, poultry, an idea garden, samplefarm crops and a few orchard trees. Their curriculum focuses on promoting an understandinof agriculture, food sources, animal care, animal science, plus volunteer initiatives, and thefarmer’s role in feeding the world. There is no charge at the Critter Barn, but they gladlyaccept donations to keep their programs running.

August 17 – Let’s ride a horse!Have a full morning of adventure! We will meet at 9:00 am for horseback riding, volleyballand swimming. The horseback adventure is approximately 1 hour long. It is a smooth ride fobeginners. Bring along good clothes for riding as well as swimming gear if you would like to

swim in their pool. There is a $27.00 fee for horseback riding.

August 24 – I love butterflies!Learn all about Monarch butterflies and hunt for caterpillars!Every child will have the opportunity to take one home.

The location will be determined during the first day of camp.

on Aging of Western Michigan.

Grandparents of any age from Kent, Allegan, Lake, Mason, Osceola, Mecosta, Newaygo, Montcalm,or Ionia Counties are encouraged to attend with their grandchildren (ages 8-15 for the June and JulyAdventure Camp, and ages 5-12 for the August Day Camp).

Costs: A suggested donation of $20 is asked per pair (one grandparent and one grandchild)

for the four sessions in each program. An additional $5 is asked for each additional grandchildand/or a second grandparent.

Rain:Arrangements have been made for shelter if needed,so each event in these two programs will be held rain or shine.
