We will hear Sam Houston speak at the Courtyard Theatre. Look for the Sing-a-long with Rick Stephens on the first Friday, he is back! Cindy and Paula, who teach Fitness, encourage you to come as you can sit or stand in any class. They also teach two water aerobics classes each week. Please sign up early for all activities on the calendar in Sign-Up Book and remember to complete a Request for transportation 24 hours in advance for all doctor appointments. The scent of fresh flowers or floral scents in general can boost your mood, lower stress and even encourage friendliness. If you don’t favor these fragrances, simply taking in the color of flowers can kindle positive emotions. Pastel-colored varieties tend to make people feel more relaxed, while bold colors are energizing. Quick Getaway “Laughter is an instant vacation.” —Milton Berle Remember to Hydrate Staying hydrated through your summer workout is essential to fitness success. Losing too much water from your body through sweat stresses your cardiovascular system and impairs performance and mental acuity. In the two hours before a workout, drink at least 16 ounces of water. During your workout, refresh with 5 to 10 ounces of water every 15 to 20 minutes. Continue to take in fluids after you’re done exercising.
