Adding A Resonance Control To The Bugera 6262

You can do this a couple of different ways.

Method 1) Completely remove R26 and replace it with a 1M log pot.

Method 2) De-solder or cut one leg of R26 and put a 1M pot in series with it. With this you will never have less resonance than when it was stock. With your pot all the way down, your amp is stock. Unless you remove the front control panel this way can be a tight squeeze with cutting the resistor lead.

On this particular amp I chose method 1 due to space limitations

Mark where you would like the resonance control pot to be on the chassis. Then drill it out. I put masking tape on the inside to try and catch as many metal shards that fall through. Then file or sand down the rough spot on the inside. I always use an air compressor to blow out any remaining pieces.

Location of R26. The underside is below the brown cable shown in the second picture:

First I removed the brown cable from the front panel board.

Then I cut 1 leg of R26 and gave it a little bend backwards so the small amount of lead on it wouldn’t touch anything.

I then soldered both wires to the small amount of lead from the resistor underneath the board. I then re-attached the brown cable.

These 2 wires then run across to the pot. Your pot should have one side and the middle lug connected to the wires. Then jumper the unused lug to the center lug.

Using double-sided foam tape I then secured (hopefully) the wire to the top of the pcb.

Pick a knob and you are done.
