In order to keep the overall dimen- sions the same, the ends of the box and the ends of the tray are slightly shorter on this version than on the box-jointed version. (Refer to the material list.) The nails we used are copper, rose-head boat nails from Lee Valley (1-800-871-8158). Because these nails are copper, they are rather soft and bend easily. So we found it nec- essary to drill holes for the nails before hammering them in place.
