Do you want to take ownership of the website for one of the country's premier trade associations?
The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) invites qualified candidates to apply forthe position of Web Editor in the Chicago office, located in the O'Hare corridor and easily accessibleby public transportation.
This position will oversee the written and visual content of the PCI website, www.pciaa.net, with therelated goals of improving website users' experience and helping to increase traffic to the site.
The Web Site Editor works with content providers both within and outside the organization to gatherand present the most useful, accurate and up-to-date information for PCI members.
PCI represents the broadest cross section of insurers of any national trade association with nearly1,000 member companies. Be a part of talented team providing PCI members with valuableinformation and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
oDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with internal content providers at all levels ofthe organization as well as external content providers.
oMonitor editorial quality with a keen eye for detail. Ensure that information presented on the PCIwebsite is presented in a consistent style and voice and aligns with larger organizational messaging
goals.
oProduce original website content that combines ideas and themes from various constituenciesthroughout the organization.
oWork with content providers to identify and promote issues or events of interest to PCI members onthe site within tight deadlines.
oEnsure consistency and effectiveness of the graphical presentations on the site.
oWork with CMS software and meetings management software that integrate with the PCI website.
oMonitor traffic to the PCI website.
oSeek ways to improve the website users' experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in a Web-related position, ideally as a web editor, with an understanding of theparticular requirements of writing for the web such as the use of keywords, hyperlinks, navigationand the importance of brevity.
Strong editorial background, including a bachelor's degree in English, journalism orcommunications.
