Better Results For Your Clients With Less Discomfort For YouThe body is designed for movement. Yet, repetitive or habitual patterns of movement often lead to tension patterns and constrictions in circulation, lymphatic flow, and range of motion. Left unchecked, these constrictions multiply—leading to pain, neurological dysfunction, and loss of flexibility in both clients and therapists! Discover a dynamic new approach to massage that takes care of you while you more effectively take care of your clients.
Kinessage® Massage through Movement is a multi-modality technique that uses the body’s design—both the therapist’s and client’s—as a method of massage. Kinessage® combines kinesiology, utilization of myofascial understanding, anatomy shorthand, and stretching to systematically identify and release layers of soft tissue in a very comfortable and efficient manner. Kinetic energy initiated within the therapist transfers to and through the client. Neurologically, activation of proprioceptors releases constrictions from the inside out, while simultaneous myofascial release application systematically clears and releases from the outside in. The result: a less fatigued, healthier therapist better equipped to focus on a reduction of chronic muscular tension; increased range of motion and flexibility; and improved circulation and neurological function for the client. This hands-on, lab-intensive introduction to Kinessage® teaches the fundamentals that allow participants to come away with new tools and a three-dimensional approach to massage that is kind, effective, and fun!
Course DirectorKATHLEEN GRAmZAY, LmT, BS, is a certified Massage Therapist through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She is licensed by the state of Arizona and has been practicing massage for more than a decade. Since 1999, Ms. Gramzay has been the owner of Knead for Balance, Inc. in Scottsdale, Arizona. She has also worked concurrently at the DC Ranch Country Club for seven years and the Ritz Carlton-Phoenix for four years. In these settings, she gained a wealth of sports massage knowledge—working on professional athletes in baseball, basketball, football, hockey, golf, and boxing. Due to these experiences, Ms. Gramzay is currently the massage therapist for a Major League Baseball team and their farm club, where she conducts massage on the players, coaches, and
team staff during Arizona Spring Training.
Ms. Gramzay graduated from the Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College in 1999. Prior to that, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. A passionate desire to understand how the body moves and to work smarter and kinder led Ms. Gramzay to complete additional coursework in anatomy and kinesiology. After nine years of application, documentation, and evolution, she has developed the highly effective and efficient method known as Kinessage® Massage through Movement. Ms. Gramzay has taught anatomical kinesiology and anatomy at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, Arizona. She is a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals and the Alliance for Massage Therapy Educators, as well as an Approved Provider through the NCBTMB. For more about Ms. Gramzay and Kinessage®, visit www.kinessage.com.
