Rittal...region,” Najjar added.

Najjar attributed the growth realized by Rittal in the Middle Eastern region to a comprehensive partner strategy that works in two ways – the company sells IT solutions through channel partners, and software service solutions through integrators. He expects the Middle Eastern companies to pose a larger demand for efficient data centres over the next few years, which is a business need Rittal is addressing today.

Selecting right partners is crucial to the company’s success in the region, Najjar added. “We are willing to sign partners who understand IT and have services that complement our business.”

Alpha Data demonstrates integrated IT solutions

Alpha Data is showcasing its advanced product portfolio and integrated IT solutions. The company is highlighting its offerings at independent booths within the stands of its technology partners HP and Microsoft.

Among the integrated HP solutions that Alpha Data is demonstrating are the Moonshot Server System and the 3PAR StoreServ storage solution that comes with a unique Get Thin Guarantee Program. The company is also highlighting the business and operational benefits of Microsoft’s Azure open and flexibe cloud platform, Office 365 online

office suite, and 12-inch Surface Pro 3 tablet.

Zakaria Ibbini, Director, Alpha Data, said: “GITEX Technology Week is an ideal platform for promoting Alpha Data’s extensive range of solutions that integrate products and systems from technology leaders such as HP and Microsoft. The event also provides us with a great opportunity to learn about the technology requirements of existing and potential clients. We have an excellent demonstration lineup that complements this year’s emphasis on the cloud, ‘smart’ technologies, mobility, and big data.”

Ciaran Forde, Vice President, Global Data Centre Business is keen to use the company’s GITEX presence to highlight the company’s varied

infrastructure offerings, as well as a new modular data centre offering.

The philosophy of ‘The network runs on CommScope’ is an idea that Forde is keen to push. He believes the saying brings the “fragmented portfolio” of the company’s critical infrastructure provision for mobile, data centre and Smart building environments together. The company offers fixed line infrastructure as well, and can deliver through copper, optical or wireless means.

Thefirm is branching out though, and has now released its own modular data centre, which Forde hopes can propel the company onto new horizons.

“For the last 10 years we have been content in supplying

infrastructure,” Forde says. “But we thought, ‘rather than just supplying the infrastructure for a data centre, why don’t we just build our own?’ We knew that we could apply our modular, prefabricated infrastructures to a data, which could avoid the threats and costs of a traditional one.”

“IT changes every 18 months,” Forde says. “Too many IT leaders will invest in multiple redundancy and over-engineering. This is not only a problem as it is an overspend, but it also means that physical space, power and capacity all become constrained.”

Forde believes that scalability is key in this respect for future IT, “It’s important to plan for the future, and to be able to adapt the environment as the need for change arises,” he says.

announced at GITEX this week.He adds, “Our third focus is

the fact that Tripwire has made us the master distributor for the region. They have optimised its channel landscape by removing others and making us the only distributor.”

The company has been participating at the event for the last six years and sees many business opportunities. “We use the event to meet our strategic partners, customers and vendors. The intangible ROIs are much higher and can be measured only after the event. It is basically an awareness creation event and a great place to do one-to-many dissemination of information.”
