Please specify the characteristics (in terms of concentration and quantum) of hazardous
as well as solid wastes and indicate disposal practice adopted for both these categories of
wastes.
Ash is the main solid waste generated in the coal based thermal power plant.
The quantity of fly ash and bottom ash generated will be 3654 TPD and 914
TPD respectively.
Bottom ash will be disposed of by using high concentrated slurry disposal
system. Fly ash will also be disposed off in designated ash disposal
system. The used oil will be given to authorized recyclers.
Fly ash will be collected in silos and utilized in the manufacturing of building
materials and other uses.
PART - G
Impact of the pollution control measures taken on conservation of natural resources and
consequently on the cost production.
The ambient air quality monitoring with respect to the study area of 10 km radius around the
project site was done to access existing air quality of the area. The various sources of air
pollution in the region are dust rising from unpaved roads, domestic fuel burning, vehicular
traffic, agricultural activities, other industries, etc.
The surface and ground water quality of the study area have been demarcated on the basis of
result of water samples collected from different observation points for determining the
suitability of water.
In order to know the baseline noise levels, in and around the project site, noise levels were
measured near Highway, agricultural fields and also at villages in the study area.
Regular monitoring of ambient air quality, ground & surface water, noise level quality have been
carried out to evaluate the quality of environment,
Results for the same have been attached as Annexure 1 and 2a & 2b and 3 respectively.

Water sprinkling being used in the kuchha roads of site and other dust vulnerable areas of the

We will develop greenery in and around the plant and approximately 2500 plants per
ha will be planted. About 20,000 plant saplings developed in and around the plant for

preferred for the plantation having following characteristics
