Prior to Mass on December 10th a pipe burst outside the kitchen in the hall causing significant damage. 2017 certainly has been a challenging year at our Parish with so many changes as a result of Pastoral Planning and aging facilities that need upkeep.. Seems we take two steps forward and get knocked back four. The damage to the hall could not have come at a worse time—on a Sunday, during the holidays and the day scheduled for one of OLOV’s premier events, A Festival of Lessons & Carols. Although the morning began on a challenging note it certainly ended on a sweet note as the parishioners paused for an hour to reflect on what is really significant in our lives. Thank you to all who for provided us with such a wonderful selection of readings and songs. It was truly needed!
Page 7
We often talk about sharing our gifts: our time, talents and treasure. Last Sunday, members of our music and lector ministries shared most generously of their gifts at the Annual Festival of Lessons & Carols. We heard the words of Scripture proclaimed by our lectors. We listened in quiet, prayerful reflection to the story of Salvation history and the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The choirs provided us with beautiful voices lifted in hymns of praise and glory. After the program, we were invited to a reception to share in faith and fellowship. Thank you to all who made this afternoon possible: Fr. Kevin Dillon, Pastor, Mr. Ed Perez, Music Director, members of the Adult and Youth Choirs and members of the lector ministry. Many hours of practice went into the preparation for this beautiful service. THANK YOU!!! During this hectic time of the year it was truly a wonderful gift for our parish to experience this celebration.
