Join a Professional Organization.

• Various professional organization are great resources that often get overlooked. Many also provide training in-order for you to connect with other professionals or mentors in your field that can offer advice. There are also options to join informal groups such as the ones that exist on platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn.

Take Classes.

• We owe the internet a huge thank you for making education accessible. One resource i’d recommend is Coursera. Coursera serves as an online platform for those interested in taking classes from universities across the globe. There are also alternative options to Coursera like Lynda, Skillshare and Udacity.

Attend Events.• There are too many events that sponsor open

learning environments. If your organization doesn’t provide learning events or workshops that does not mean you should limit yourself. Astek, a B2B design company based in Chicago hosts a “Think-n-Drink” event monthly opened to the public with limited RSVP’s. If you do happen to miss out on an event that sparked your interest, Theres always SlideShare. SlideShare is another great resource for learning.

Analyze Your Office.

• Never underestimate your companies ability to provide you with means to adapt new skills. Observe your colleagues, look at what they’re working on. If you are interested in learning new things, speak to your colleagues. There is always someone who knows something you don’t.
