Introduction to reading strategy instruction with a model lesson of each of the six strategies from Strategies that Work.
Introduction to Literature Circles
Poetry Students are introduced to the phases of the writing
process and the use of writing journals. Students will read thematically linked poems, examine elements of poetry, and develop responses to poetry that include analysis and evaluation of texts. In addition, students may create an original poetry book based on the following themes:
