PROFESSIONALPROGRAMMEHappy 2020, and it’s always a happy place here at Dance Base, with new, odd, funny, thrilling and and heartwarming work being created in our studios on a daily basis.

This term we play host to our Associate Artists Farah Saleh, Katrina McPherson and Claricia Parinussa, as well as welcoming back the amazing duo of White and Givan, and I’m so delighted to see the excellent Tamsyn Russell back in the studio.

The extraordinary musician Jer Reid puts the muse into music; he has such an understanding of movement and this is a sharing you don’t want to miss on March 20th,from Jer and his comrades from the West Coast. Just come to all our showings – it’s a nobrainer. Every residency ends with a studio sharing which is free and open to the public. All you have to do is swing by, engage and join in a discussion afterward, if the mood strikes you. It’s entirely up to you.

Feel welcome at Dance Base, and keep an eye on social media and our professional programme for more news: dancebase.co.uk/professional

Morag Deyes MBE Artistic Director

PRIME This term PRIME move into a different style and phase withdancer and maker Jack Webb, who is known and respected forhis sense of innovation and intelligent, edgy work. What will hebe inspired to make with this wonderful elder company? Hehas already done some research with one PRIME member(visual artist and PRIME dancer Diane Mitchell), so he’s beentuning in to the mature body and how it moves for a while. Now he will have an entire company as his palette.

For more information about this great choreographer pleasego to jackwebbperformance.com

And there’s much to learn about PRIME, Scotland’s semi-professional dance company for elders, by heading todancebase.co.uk/professional/prime. Find out what theyhave done and who they’ve worked with, and perhaps even beinspired to join the company at the next round of auditions?
