Midge tolerant wheat protects your crop against devastating pest damage, but it’s up toyou to protect the technology. The Stewardship Agreement limits the use of farm-savedseed to one generation past Certified seed. It’s a simple step that keeps the interspersedrefuge system at the proper level, preventing build-up of resistant midge.Without therefuge, we risk losing the one and only tolerant gene. There is no plan B.

Protect this important tool. Plan for high yields and quality grades for years to come. Contact your retailer or visit www.midgetolerantwheat.ca.

SUPPLEMENT TO THE WESTERN PRODUCER

Welcome from the AGrIcUltUre mANAGerProduced by Saskatoon Prairieland Park for more than 30 years, the Western Canadian Crop Production show brings together producers, the research community, manufacturers and industry experts at an annual event focusing on advancements relating to all major crops grown in Western Canada. The City of Saskatoon embraces agriculture the week of January 12th, by officially proclaiming it “Agriculture Business Awareness Week”. The Western Canadian Crop Production Show, as well as the Crop Production Week commodity group meetings, attracts leaders in Canadian grain production including top producers and manufacturers. The reputation that the show has earned is evident in both the requests for additional space from our current exhibitors, and number of new companies on the waiting list. While our focus of attracting qualified buyers and sellers has not changed, the show’s ongoing success can be attributed to its ability to provide new events that highlight current issues and new technology. This year, the Precision Agriculture Seminar will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 14th in Hall A. Attendees will gather information and advice from leading experts in research and technology, and the personal observations from a fellow producer. Our goal to provide an ag-industry gathering place with a global perspective and access to the latest technologies and education is ongoing. On behalf of our entire staff and the volunteer Crop Production Show committee, I welcome you to Prairieland Park and the Western Canadian Crop Production Show.

A team to maximize your farm’s profitability?

www.fna.ca

It just makes sense. What one farmer cannot do alone, together we can achieve—in the FNA farm business alliance. Together we have brought Members hundreds of millions of dollars in additional profit they would not otherwise have realized. All because they made the strategic decision to participate in FNA.

And right now, FNA Members are participating in two major initiatives to build a fertilizer manufacturing and distribution business as well as a grain handling & marketing business. These farmer-partners can occupy a larger footprint in the value chain, recapturing excess margins on both ends, instead of feeling squeezed in the middle.

Let FNA work for you. Participate with 10,000 other producers in the only farm business alliance dedicated to maximizing your profitability. We guarantee it will be one of the best investments you ever make in your operation.

Let’s Talk. Call us at 1-877-362-3276.

The producer meetings that comprise Crop Production Week 2015 will occur at three different venues – the Saska-toon Inn, TCU Place and Prairieland Park.

Of course, Prairieland is also the site for the Western Canadian Crop Production Show. In the subsequent pages, you’ll see the agendas for each of the producer meetings. Please note the location.

Crop Production Week has initiated a scheduled shut-tle service to link the Saskatoon Inn with TCU Place and Prairieland Park. The shuttle will run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and there’s no charge. Shuttle times will be listed at www.cropweek.com or you can check with the front desk of the Saskatoon Inn – 306-242-1440.

Producers and industry people will be able to stay at the newly renovated Saskatoon Inn and access the activities at TCU and Prairieland without driving their own vehicle and trying to find parking. A block of rooms has been re-served at Saskatoon Inn for Crop Week guests. Again, see www.cropweek.com for more information.

It should also be noted that information on the plenary and concurrent speakers associated with CropSphere at TCU Place can be found at www.cropsphere.com.
