FOREWORD
This work book has been prepared in accordance with the English language
syllabus and curriculum requirements as stated in the present main course
reader in Karnataka. The twin objectives of this workbook are as follows.
1. to facilitate the reinforcement of what has been learnt earlier through main
course reader / texts in the respective class,
2. to produce contexts and activities for internalizing what has been learnt
earlier through practice.
This work book has been designed in such way that the learners at the said
level get more practice in developing the four major language skills namely
L.S.R.W and incidentally developing the grammatical ability and vocabulary or
language use in meaningful contexts. The activities suggested are self
instructional and care has been taken to maintain the interest level of the users of
the book. It also includes a lot of instructions to the teachers who need to find
sufficient time to enable students to make the best use of the practice books they
have.
The team would always welcome suggestions, if any, for improvement.
