LT01: Give a presentation on historical emerged system. Showing design, use of a method and thetechnical set up.

LT02: Research and report on four emerging technologies for two different business sectors.

LT03: Look at historic emerging technologies and choose two to research their development and uptakeby people and organisations over the past five years. Produce a time log of events

LT04: Identify key critical success factors related to emerging systems that could be used to followemerging systems development. Identify impacts on people, society and organisations andsuggest lessons learned for the future.

    Learning Objectives

Demonstrate a range of technical and methodological skills, including design, implementation/integrationand evaluation, for the construction of interactive computing systems

Gain skills for effective management of technology by finding information on likely changes in emerging

technologies and their implications for business interest. Learn to be a critical informed consumer of such

    foresight information

    advanced materials; geographic predictions.

Develop an attention to emerging technologies and how to track pertinent developments; practical

sensitivity to the future; introduction to information exploitation tools; the capability to perform technologymonitoring, technology forecasting, and impact assessment.

Your Portfolio of tasks must include the following:

Report on an historical emerged system and presentation to peers with powerpoint notes.

Research Reports with comprehensive bibliographies. Research and report on four emergingtechnologies for two different business sectors.

Look at historic emerging technologies and choose two to research their development and uptake by

people and organisations over the past five years. Produce a time log of events

Identify key critical success factors related to emerging systems that could be used to follow emerging

systems development. Identify or create a model or design to help future generations with the forecast of

    emerging technologies.

Produce a report and give a presentation on a technical system that emerged between 8 and 12 years

ago and is now a base technology.

    Show how it was born.

Using research on historic data and articles, map its development from an emerging technology to a

base technology. Quote any models or theories used by you in mapping the technological cycle. Is it

still in use today ? Or has it been overtaken by new innovation(s).

Produce brief reports on the four different systems that emerged between 0 and 3 years ago. Explain howthey were born. Quote any models or theories used by you in mapping the emerging systems.Using research on web sites, magazines, articles and other areas, actual examples must be found. Youmust use a discussion to cover the reasons why such systems emerged and recognise the stages of theirdevelopment so far.

A brief comparison of similarities and differences should be made between the four researched systems.

    Submission Criteria

All work that is submitted should be grammar and spell checked

    Note this is individual work.

Penalties for late submission of coursework.

Standard School of Computing and information Technology arrangements apply. Any late

submission (without valid cause) will result in the grade of F0 being allocated to the coursework.

    Procedure for requesting extensions.

Student collects an extension request form from your personal tutor and completed the form and

renegotiated a new deadline with the module tutor. This is then passed to the personal tutor as

    confirmation.

    Retrieval of Failure

Where a component has been failed and an E grade awarded for the module, reassessment will

normally take place in the following September.

    Cheating

Cheating is an attempt to gain unfair advantage by dishonest means and includes plagiarism and
