• Length

• 12 inches= 1 foot

• 3 feet = 1 yard

• 5,280 feet = 1 mile

Weight

• 16 ounces = 1 pound

• 2,000 pounds = 1 ton

Capacity

• 8 fl oz = 1 cup

• 2 cups = 1 pt

• 2 pints – 1 quart

• 4 quarts = 1 gallon

Examples

• To change from a smaller unit to a larger unit, you divide.

• Example: change 32 fl oz to cups

• Change 50 fl oz to cups

• Examples: change 4 ¼ lbs to ounces• Change 4 5/8 lb to ounces• Change 3 7/16 to ounces • Change 9 ¾ lb to ounces
