55’s Social Club
Every day we provide a full range of fun social events for people 55+ and people with learning disabilities.
Come along to keep fit and active and meet new friends! Activities include: days out, Theatre trips, Bingo, Gentle Pilates, Art, I.T., Tai Chi, Quizzes, Dance, Singing, Talks and discussions with guest speakers and much more!

How to Book Activities
Some of our activities are drop-in sessions and some others must be booked and paid at the time of booking. No names will be taken after the deadline which is one week before the acti-vity take place. If a session is marked as Drop-in there is no need to book. If a session is marked as Book in Advance you must book in advance as we have limited spaces and drop in will not be accepted. Please, note that we are a members only club, you will need to complete a membership form to book or attend any activity.
You can book by coming to The Peel and speaking with Kimberley or Jennifer. If you are not yet a member of The Peel, please, call us to book an appointment to sign up and become a member. If you are a member but no longer attend some of the activities, please, remove your name from the class register and inform Jennifer or Kimberley.
Lunch at The Peel
At The Peel you have a lunch option. Fresh salad, sandwich and soup served daily. Prices: Soup of the day - £1.50 Sandwich - £1.50 / £2.00 Fresh Salad - £2.50 / £3.00 Lunch is served between 12:30 - 1pm. You need to place your order before 11.30 am.
Please, let us know if you have any food allergies.
We do not provide take away lunch.

Join the club and learn how to play this lovely instrument. This class is for complete
beginners and no previous musical experience is needed to join in. You will learn
how to play the instrument in an easy and accessible way and learn how to sing and
play along to your favourite tunes! Instruments will be provided or you can bring
your own (we can offer help and advice if you want to purchase your own Ukulele).
There are limited places for this class. To sign-up please, speak with Jennifer.

Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health
and well-being. Sometimes it's called essential oil therapy. Aromatherapy uses aromatic
essential oils to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. It enhances both physical
and emotional health. Limited places, please, book by writing your name in the activities
book.

Think you can’t knit? Think again! June has years of experience and is great at sharing her
knowledge, experience and love of knitting with others. All materials are supplied. You’ll be

Awaken The Heart Through the transformative power of Chanting & Mantras. In this session,
we’ll explorer mantras, and explore the mystery and wonder of the heart. Chanting is
considered one of the most helpful practices for our current era to transform your mind
building positive thoughts. With a global epidemic of loneliness and depression teachings on
love and compassion are more important than ever. This session is concluded with a short
meditation and invocation. There are limited places for this session. Please, book by

Practice and learn how to sew using a sewing machine and learn the following hand stitching

Engaging in drawing helps to improve coordination and increases blood flow, which may
improve dexterity in the hands, wrists, and fingers. As a result, it can help adults with arthritis
or other joint conditions manage inflammation and chronic pain. The process of learning
something new, such as a new art skill, helps to stimulate healthy brain activity and keep our
minds sharp! Come and join Andrew on this class for complete beginners.

Energy healing targets the energy fields around the body. According to practitioners, energy
can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or possibly emotional pain. In
time, these energy blocks can cause illness. Please, give a donation to your healer as

Adapted to the chair here is your chance to learn the basic of ballet in a fun way. The class is

Keep learning is the best way to maintain your brain activity and sharp! Numerous studies
have shown that people whom are engaged in learning activities are less prone to suffer from
dementia. Every 4 weeks we will pick a course subject together and dive in the world of
learning. Courses subjects will vary from Anatomy to Art, Technology, Geography, History
and others. Certificate of Achievement will be available for a small extra cost.

This a basic computer class which will run in blocks of 8 weeks. During these weeks you will
learn the basic of a computer, turning on and off, main features of a laptop, how to access the

the features of your gadget? This is the perfect workshop for you! Come, and bring your
gadget with you and a group of technicians will help you to set-up or teach you whatever you

If you are coming by bus: The Peel is on the PlusBus route 812 for easy access. And the buses below stop close to the centre:
If you are coming by train, the closest stations from us are:
Angel on the Northern Line. Note this station does not have step free access. It is a 12 min
walk from the Station to The Peel.
Farringdon on the Thameslink, Hammersmith & City Line and Metropolitan Line. This
station has step free access. It is a 7 min walk from the Station to The Peel.
Everybody Entering and Leaving the building must be accounted for. You
must sign in and out every time, if for any reason you can’t register your
attendance please inform a member of staff.
The fire assembly point is at Spa Fields which is at the end of the 3
Corners building, fire exits are located at either end of the building, Fire
exit 1 The front glass door, Fire exit 2 the door next to the toilets. Please
evacuate the building as quickly as possible.
The Peel safeguarding adults policy is available in a folder at The Peel
and online. Members can also request a paper copy in writing or in
person.
