Drammen International Gospel Choir UK Visit 2014
Hello Everyone!
As you will know, Sven-Jøran has told me of the choir's desire to visit England in 2014,
and I would be very happy to arrange this for you in the position of Tour Manager and to
offer total commitment from Winchester Today.
I am writing therefore as the Managing Editor of Winchester Today to offer our complete
support.
We provide a printed newspaper each month that is delivered door-to-door to the
residents of Winchester and surrounding areas. We also provide an online version at
winchestertoday.co.uk - and through social media on Twitter and Facebook.
Although I am a member of my local church and read lessons there, I cannot act on their
behalf. They have though offered me use of the church as a venue.
As explained previously to Sven-Jøran, I would like to draw on past experience - and I
am of the firm belief that the trip should be planned as we are well in advance. This
would therefore seem an ideal time to start planning things.
We have identified four venues available here in Winchester and Salisbury. On top, there
is the possibility of singing in Salisbury Cathedral and/or Winchester Cathedral. I know
the people in both very well, but they need to be booked! Previous experience shows
that advance publicity is of extreme importance; details need to be included in
brochures, leaflets and posters as soon as possible.
The primary method of advertising would be through my own newspaper Winchester
Today. You know of course that the Internet and new technology have both proved to be
fantastic ways of spreading free publicity; I'm sure this will help these tours if the shows
themselves are properly planned and appeal to the right audience.
Your commitment is vital - I ust that you will give this opportunity your utmost priority
over the next few days.
Kevin

Feel The Love Tour 2014 - Key Points
Winchester Today is involved in this fantastic project to bring a gospel choir over from
Norway.
The Drammen International Gospel Choir is from the town of Drammen, to the south-
west of Oslo.
The Gospel choir is multi-national, with singers and musicians from around the world
including the Philippines, South Africa, Korea and Norway.
The Gospel choir will be presenting a full-scale concert in both Salisbury and Winchester
at the Salisbury Arts Centre and Winchester Discovery Centre.
The songs include well-known tracks like 'Down By The Riverside', 'Something Inside So
Strong', 'Amazing Grace' and 'Oh Happy Day'.
Loads of people will benefit - students from schools in Salisbury and Winchester will be
given a master class in musicianship.
A live concert CD is being recorded and we're also donating at least £2 from each CD
sale to our nominated charity, Naomi House.
Investment in the project can be made at all levels - from just £1 up to full sponsorship
accreditation of £295.
Everything is online - we've made it really easy for people to get involved.
All you need to do is go to Kickstarter dot com and search for Winchester Today.
Thank You!
Thank you for looking at our sponsorship proposal for the Drammen International Gospel
Choir Autumn Tour 2014. The tour is called Gospel - Feel The Love!
The choir is 25-strong with musicians who are world class. They create music, they love
music, they love life.
Visits for a choir like this to the UK are extremely rare, and the trip will provide people
here in Winchester, Salisbury and Southampton with the opportunity to experience
performances at the highest level.
Because of the way we are set up, we are in control of all our own media in Winchester
and are not constrained to offering space. We are able to offer you much more than
normal sponsorship deals, and therefore believe we can offer you a fantastic package
for just £295.
