We appreciated being surrounded by our church family, some of the Green and Miller families, as well as community leaders and friends from other churches in the area. We will always be grateful for the love shown to us not just on Friday night but for the last 17 years. The joy of the Lord is indeed our strength (Nehemiah 8:10) and has been ever present in our church. You all are awesome and we will forever hold you close in our hearts! Special thanks to: Robert Gibbs and the SPR Committee Carol Cruze Johnny Walker Mike Treadway, emcee Charles Maynard K-Wrecks (the band) Alcoa High School …and everyone else who worked to make the night so special! A NOTE FROM THE PASTOR...

On February 26th Robert Gibbs (SPR Chairman) announced our upcoming move to our church family. He said we weren’t going to grieve, but that we were going to “have a party” and that’s just what we did! It was one surprise after another for us and nothing in the evening proved to be a letdown.

Friday night’s celebration at Alcoa High School was unforgettable! As we drove to the beach on Saturday, Beth and I continued to marvel at everything that happened…all the planning and work it took to make the night so memorable…and all the family and friends who attended! The night began with us being driven to the celebration in a hearse (by Jenni Bryant) from Smith Mortuary…and ended with great music from K-Wrecks (the band with David Nichols, Brian Perkins, Davy Hill and friends)! Both of us smiled so much that our faces hurt!

THANK YOU

Dear Joe and Congregation:

Just wanted to drop you a word of thanks for the beautiful floral arrangement that you sent to our 100th Year Anniversary Celebration. God blessed us with a glorious day with over 700 in attendance.

We are constantly reminded how fortunate we are to have Alcoa First Methodist just down the street on the other corner. I am sure your proven devotion to our Lord will be greatly blessed by Him as you continue to serve Him.

In the Grip of His Grace,Freeman Tomlin, Pastor, First Baptist Alcoa

Dear Members of First United Methodist Church,

Everyone associated with Community Food Connection would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks to you for your recent contribution of $2,068.

So far this year, we have served 4,965 families, 14,541 people and 4,310 children. Without generous donors like you, we would not be able to provide food for the hungry in Blount County. Thank you so much for your support of this agency.

Sincerely,Ann Peterson, Treasurer
