This message is inspired by the recent unusual occurrence that happened in Israel on May 9,

2014. It was recorded that Israel received what they called late season rain storms which caused

major flooding. This flooding ended 5 days of intense heat and dry conditions. Oftentimes God

speaks with many signs in the natural to reveal things that are about to happen in the spirit realm,

and this message is based off of this particular sign, which the Lord spoke to me about its

meaning spiritually. It’s for those that have ears to hear and eyes to see by His Spirit alone and

to understand the times we are in which Jesus spoke to us about to discern rightly ( Matthew

16:1-4).

Zechariah 10:1 (ESV)

Ask rain from the LORD in the season of the spring rain, from the LORD who makes the

storm clouds, and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone the vegetation in the field.

These floods came after a length of time where there was intense heat and dry conditions. God

has said these are conditions of a desert. He has said, “I will cause streams in the desert.”

Isaiah 43:19 (NASB)

"Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will

even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.

This is the time of God springing forth all that is new. As Christ said in Matthew 16, will you

discern the times? Or is it that you can only discern what’s of the flesh and not of the

Spirit? Only those that are completely in the Spirit will truly be able to discern rightly the times

and understand, but those that continue to walk in the fleshly nature will not see what time they

are actually in. They instead, will only see the sign of Jonah. As all that is new is of the Spirit

alone and one cannot be a new creation or exist in Christ, and maintain their existence or be

created in the carnal nature as well because the earth is passing away (Matthew 24:35). Nothing

is birthed or sprung up out of death, only what’s of Life.

Isaiah 41:17-20 (NKJV)

“The poor and needy seek water, but there is none,

Their tongues fail for thirst.

I, the Lord, will hear them;

I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

18 I will open rivers in desolate heights,

And fountains in the midst of the valleys;

I will make the wilderness a pool of water,

And the dry land springs of water.

19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree,

The myrtle and the oil tree;

I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine

And the box tree together,

20 That they may see and know,

And consider and understand together,

That the hand of the Lord has done this,

And the Holy One of Israel has created it.

The Lord says, “The poor in spirit are Mine and they know and understand that they need Me

alone. They thirst for Me more and more and there is none around them to fulfill them to

overflowing because the land is dry due to lack of rain or of My reign in all areas. Instead, the

lands have been dried up due to idols and many are crazy over their idols before Me (Jeremiah

50:38). I have heard My poor in spirit’s cries and I will not leave them without the abundance of

My reign (Proverbs 3:10). I will overflow them with the abundance of Myself. For just as I sent

rain before Ahab, by the word of Elijah, I will send the rain again (1 Kings 18). As I begin to

show Ahab, I will send the rain on the earth. Do you not understand what Ahab represents (2

Chronicles 21:13)? Hear what the Spirit is saying.”

After the fifth day of desert-like conditions, the rain came…

The Lord says, “Just like on the sixth day of creation, I created man in My image, and with this

rain (reign) I will create him again in My image, by the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26-31). This is

My order manifesting, first the natural and then the spiritual will come after (1 Corinthians

15:39-49). For just as in the beginning, the first man was formed from earth (Genesis 2:7) and I

breathed life into him; but now I have created a life-giving spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45). This

spirit that belongs to Me in oneness, will flow with living water and cover the dry land with My

Life, My salvation (John 7:38; Isaiah 12:3; 35:6; 44:3; 55:1;58:11; Zechariah 14:8; John

4:10). The water that I have given them, My Spirit, will well or spring up to eternal life (John

4:14). This is the abundance of rain that is coming, the latter rain. And in this time My anger

will come against the shepherds , and I will punish the leaders (Zechariah 10:1-12). During this

time I will visit My flock, the house of Judah, and from them the Cornerstone will be established

(1 Peter 2:6; Isaiah 22:22-25). They will tread down the enemy and I will be with them. I will

strengthen them in Me, and they will walk in My name. For I have created it according to My

Spirit.”

The former and the latter rains come to mind when reading that these rains were

considered exceptional and late for the season.

Joel 2:23-24 (NKJV)

Be glad then, you children of Zion,

And rejoice in the Lord your God;

For He has given you the former rain faithfully,

And He will cause the rain to come down for you—

The former rain,

And the latter rain in the first month.

24 The threshing floors shall be full of wheat,

And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.

The rains of March (the first month) and April are known as ‘the latter rains’ in Scripture, which

are considered the times of the barley harvest. These rains nourished the barley and wheat

crops before they are what they call ‘white for harvest’ or ripe (John 4:35; Genesis 50:19-

21). These months can receive some of the heaviest rainfall. However, the exception was that

this heavy rain came in May instead. This is what the Lord said about this:

“Men perceive the seasons by their own understanding and would like to think that I have made

the rains come late, but there’s a reason for this. I have appointed a time for this harvest and

even though it may tarry, I have told My people to wait for it, for it will come (Habakkuk 2:3; 2

Peter 3:9; Hebrews 10:35-39). Many of My people (the wheat) will come to the threshing floor

in this time to be separated and the chaff will be burned (Luke 3:17); the threshing floors will

be full of wheat. Those that I call My vats, the ones that have prepared themselves rightly before

Me, will be a new wine skin or vat (bottle). They will overflow with new wine and oil because

they can bear or sustain it; as I have made them able to support it, for I AM the lampstand that

provides for the lamps (Zechariah 4:1-6). I will also protect them from those that seek to take

their spiritual offspring into slavery because they have feared Me alone and have filled their

vessels with oil, so that the debt could be paid and also that their offspring could live as well (2

Kings 4:1-7). They have truly learned to lay down their lives and have come to love one another

as I have commanded in obedience (John 15:13-17; 1 John 3:16). My love has been made

perfect in them, just as My Son is perfect.”

Also onThursday, as flooding swept through the Arava, a mother and daughter were moderatelyhurt when their car overturned near Yotvata.Although rainy periods in May are not unusual– and in fact occur nearly ever year – these episodes tend to occur only locally and involveno more than a few millimeters of rain, Dr. Amos Porat, director of the IMS ClimateDepartment, told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday. The Thursday rains, however, wereoccurring on a widespread scale and were “exceptional with large amounts,” he said.“The

“We received a lot of humidity and cloudiness from the tropical areas of Africa.”Inmeteorological terms, a trough is an elongated region characterized by low atmosphericpressure, whereas a ridge is such an area with high atmospheric pressure.Unlike duringwinter storms, in which cold air masses move in from Europe, in this case, tropical airmasses moved in from eastern Africa or potentially even as far as the Indian Ocean, Dr.Baruch Ziv, a climate scientist at the Open University, told the Post. Lightning frequency wasvery high, a typical component of tropical storms, and the intensity of the rains wereextreme, Ziv added.The strong storms carried with them widespread thunder and lightningand drenched the country with rain almost nonstop from Wednesday night throughThursday morning, IMS data, provided by Porat, said. Saturday would likely feature partly cloudy skieswith slightly warmer temperatures, and similar, perhaps clearer conditions would continueon Sunday, the IMS added.

The waters of the river Zin are seen gushing down a dry riverbed, much to the delight oflocals and a highly excitable dog.

It is thought the return of the flood waters are because of heavy rain in mountainousregions several miles away from the arid land.

THE BIBLICAL NEGEV DESERT

The Negev (or Negeb) takes its name from the Hebrew neghev, meaning dry.

Beersheba was a major crossroads for Abraham in the Old Testament.

According to the Bible he arrived in the area 3,700 years ago dug a well to feed his flock andestablished a settlement for his people.

The desert is the scene of many biblical events and was a place of exile and a wilderness.

The Israelites wandered the Negev during the 'wilderness journey' after the Exodus.

The Zin river used to mark the border of Israel in Biblical times

The occasional flooding of the Negev is mentioned in the Old testament.

For centuries the dry area, which is a massive creek bed, has seen the disappearance andreturn of water in a series of flash floods, Examiner.com reported.

The landscape is dramatic in places with plunging canyons and meandering dusty paths,which cause small waterfalls and the water to ride over the bumpy, dusty terrain.

The wave is impressive considering it is caused by rainfall miles away, and it does not takelong for a convincing stream that gushes down holes in the rock to appear, strengthening allthe time.

The appearance of the river is highly unpredictable and it has been years since enoughrainfall has caused a flash flood in the desert, experts said.

Meanwhile, companies that run jeep tours of the region to point out Biblical sights advisevisitors to check the weather forecast in case a flood is imminent.

The Negev desert is a dry and desolate land during the high summer months, but in thewinter, rain falls on higher ground, such as the nearby ancient city of Beersheba.

Rains that continue until around April can accumulate on high ground and lead to theflooding of the dry river bed below.

The pattern of events is even described in the Old Testament of the Bible.

It is not an impact crater from a meteor, but is the world’s largest makhtesh - a type ofgeological feature unique to the region = and measures 24miles (40km) long, between onemile and six miles (2km and 10km) wide and up to 1,640ft (500m) deep. It is intriguinglyshaped like an elongated heart.

The Negev desert is where 12 spies are said to have been sent by Moses to travel thePromised Land and the Zin river used to mark the border of Israel in Biblical times.
