A special thank you to all who embrace Stewardship
“Stewardship is opening our hearts, schedules, and hands to others; being available and willing to give our time and our love.”
2nd Sunday of Easter, April 28, 2019 - $11,255
“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one an-other as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” (1 Peter 4:10)
From the Pastor’s Desk It is First Communion Sunday at our parish. It is
always a day of celebration and joy for the parish
community to welcome for the first time all these
children to the table of the Lord. The children have
been preparing carefully for the past two years and are
excited. We pray that the Eucharist, the Bread of Life,
will be their sustenance all through their lives.
We congratulate their parents, who have been their first
teachers in the ways of faith.
One of the early fathers of the Church used to say,
“I will hold up the host and say ‘Body of Christ’ and
you will answer ‘Yes, We are’”.
Today these new communicants remind us all of the
wonder and beauty of the Eucharist.
Fr. Jay

May 12, 2019 - 4th Sunday of Easter Gospel - John 10:27-30
“My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.”
Reflection: Whereas “oneness” is the hallmark of the Divine relation-ship, disunity is the hallmark of humankind’s relationships in which one focuses on differences and our own sup-posed perfection.
The Trinity’s distinguishing characteristic of unity offers hope of peace to a world of fractured relationships—however the world can only learn the reality of this one-ness by observing the unity that exists within the mystical Body of Christ.
Jesus values the other members of his body so much that he willingly died for them.
Reflection questions: 1. How can we learn to stop focusing on our non-
essential differences and instead, seek that perfect unity which the Son has with the Father?
2. Do you agree that speaking and acting hatefully to-wards another person is more representative of the Pharisees treatment of Christ than of Christ’s treat-ment of us?

Did You Know? Text Messaging: Know the Warning Signs During Child Abuse Preven on month and the Archdiocese’s “Keep Kids Safe” campaign, let’s remember that monitoring a child’s Internet browsing and cell phone use are important and challenging aspects of being a parent. In keeping track of your child’s text messaging, with its dizzying array of coded abbrevia-
ons and symbols, there are some codes that every parent should keep his/her eyes open for. These are codes that kids use to warn others that their parents are around or that they use to talk about sex, drugs, or to arrange a mee ng. A helpful tutorial for parents is located at h p://knol.google.com. Type: “How to understand your kids’ text messages” in the search box.

Pidámosle a
