1. Preparation of Product Design, Assembly and Drafting of Engine component drawings.

Projects Handled:

#1 Title: Pinion Housing, Bevel gears, Bevel pinions and Gearbox Parts.Description: Prepare 2D drawings and 3D modeling of Gearbox components, Bevel Gears and Bevel pinions in order to undertake CFD analysis in the models. Generate rapid prototype models to get a better understanding of the parts before actual manufacturing of the components.Modeling of Pinion housing. The Pinion housing is used to mount on to the intermediate casing of the engine. This is used to transfer the power from the gearbox to the main shaft by transferring power through the bevel pinion in the pinion housing to the bevel gear which is connected to the main shaft of the turbine engine.

#2 Title: Rotating Oil Tank for test Rig.Description: Modeling of parts and assembling of the Rotating oil tank for test rig. Rotating oil tank supplies clean oil to all the bearings of the gas turbine engine through a pump. The high pressure oil when injected in the bearing locations draws air from its surroundings of pressure balance chamber. This air oil mixture is pumped out from the bearing chambers by five scavenge pumps, from where it enters into the rotating tank via oil inlet port.

#3 Title: Indigenous Vortex Oil tank.Description: Modeling of parts and assembling of the conceptual Vortex oil tank and producing a prototype by rapid prototyping process in order to test the oil tank for its worthiness. It was developed with an intension to produce an oil tank with no rotating parts in it, and supplies sufficient oil at different altitudes and positions of the aircraft without any hindrance.

Achievementscreated 3D models to generate rapid prototype models for the assembly of the gears in the split casing Gearbox, which was displayed in the 2013 Airshow, bangalore.
