May 2009 Term 2 Week 5
Welcome to Week 10.
What a busy term – our students have once
again enjoyed many varied and interesting
learning opportunities as well as experiencing
great success and participation in our sporting
program. Thank you to everyone who has
assisted us with coaching, travel, canteens and
fundraising within our hardworking P&C
group.
Today our students are participating in the
NRMA safety day- this is a wonderful
opportunity for our students to increase their
knowledge of road safety and we thank the
NRMA for providing this normally $2500
program free of charge!
Tomorrow we have our recognition assembly
and congratulations to the students who are
receiving awards.
Wednesday is our Fete- from 1.00pm -
3.00pm – please come along and join the fun!
P&C will be providing a BBQ lunch and all
classes are running a stall or activity.
Please stay safe during the holidays – take
care!

Our students thoroughly enjoyed meeting and listening to this very entertaining author last week. Not only is john an author, he also has a rural background so easily related to his audience with his funny stories about paddock-bashers, mice and farm dogs. However, john doesn’t just write stories based on his farming experiences. This extensive genre range appeals to everyone and many students also took the opportunity to purchase one of his books and have it personally signed. We are very grateful, once again, to Cathy at the Town Library and the Bland Shire council for organising the visit. The “buzz” around school amongst the students since meeting John is proof that these visits are beneficial, motivation and really work.
Children from Kindergarten to Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed the Hands-On Maths activities presented by “WORLD OF MATHS”. The activity stations included lots of measuring, manipulation of shapes, finding patterns in numbers, logical thinking, problem solving and FUN!
