5 reasons you’ll enjoy your time at uni more than you did high school You won’t be alone, your voice will count There are a lot of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people studying at USQ and you’ll be part of the mob! We’re all working towards our future and you’ll find a lot of like-minded study friends. Classes aren’t 9am – 5pm Most classes only last 2 hours and tutorials usually last an hour. This gives you time to focus on your future and get to know your classmates! There are no bells, roll calls or uniforms either. Your class schedule won’t be Monday to Friday Depending on what you decide to study, you might only have to come to university 2 or 3 days a week. The other days can be used for study, spending time with family and friends, or doing something that you love like painting, singing or dancing, even a part-time job. Asking questions isn’t just ok, it’s encouraged! Your classes are interactive and asking questions in class can lead to deadly conversations. Unlike high school where you just had to take notes and listen to what was being said, debating an idea in your uni class is welcomed! Your assignments will be different Assessment is a bit different and might take longer than your high school assignments. But what if I told you that you’d enjoy writing them and often have to bring the word count down, rather than struggle to fill the pages. If you are ready to start a career and want to know more about studying at USQ, what’s stoppin’ ya, cuz? I hated high school, I’m gonna hate uni! University is not like high school. It’s better. It is a lot more fun and best of all, you get to choose your career at the end. You can be who you’re meant to be - not just another student waiting for that clock to tick to 3:00pm and the school bell to ring. There is no racing home from classes to do homework. Instead, have a coffee, a yarn and a study session with the USQ Mob.
