The best thing about our stunning town is it’s less than an hour from Perth and has plenty of natural attractions to get you outdoors and recalibrating the right way. But what's open and what's not?

We’ve compiled a list of ‘open’ options so all you need is a few winter warms, your favourite playlist and fuel for the road trip!

1. Chase the Sun The sun may be sleeping longer, but in the coun-try, this just means brilliant sunsets and unbe-lievable night skies. Hotspots: Sunrise or Sunset at Mount Brown lookout. Greenhills Inn, Lavendale Farmstay, Hillside Country Retreat and White Gum Farm all offer fire pits and amazing night skies. Don’t forget the marshmallows!

Due to COVID restrictions, there is a limited number of operators running business as usual however York has plenty of cafes operating as takeaways and a few dine in options. Hotspots: Pre-order a Gather York Gourmet Pic-nic Hamper . Pick up takeaway coffee from Botanicalia Café or Jules Café. Dine in at Flour Mill Café, Settlers House Imperial Homestead or Nguyens’ Bakery (the pies!) Check out the Open for Business page on the Visitor Centre website for the latest updates.

Finding that instaworthy shot isn't hard in this heritage filled part of the world, but if you’re looking for something a little quirky, we got you covered as well. Hotspots: Checkout the Door of Walls at the Old Flour Mill, discover Smales Lane, wander across the suspension bridge or get a snap with the larger than life size Murray Cod!

No matter which way you look, nature rules in the

country and the possibilities are endless!

Hotspots: Get the kids exploring along the Avon River

walk trail, take a hike through the Wandoo National

Park and discover the bird hide or for the more adven-

turous take a paddle along the Avon River. Best wild-

life spots can be found on Mount Brown in early morn-

ings and late evenings.

Sometimes its not about the destination but the

journey. Put on your explorers cap and discover

something completely new.

Hotspots: Families will love the Tiny Doors Trail.

For Petrol heads the Motocross track and pee wee

circuit is a must visit, as is White Gum Farm with its

4wd tracks, paddle boats, fishing and camping

spots!

There’s a reason why people keep coming back – no matter which area of York and the Avon Valley you visit and whether it’s

your first time or hundredth, you’re guaranteed to find new activities, experiences and destinations to enjoy.
