Student Parking
All student parking permits for this school year have been sold. We have over 1200 juniors and seniors
on campus and just over 300 parking spaces for students so there is no possibility of providing a space
for all students who would like to park at school. Students without permits should never park on cam-
pus during school hours. If they do, they risk receiving a $20 citation and repeat offenders will find
their car booted and at risk for towing.

CFnC sends electronic transcripts to most north Carolina colleges!
If you are applying to any north Carolina college or university, you can send your transcripts electroni-
cally through CFnC, even if you have applied through the colleges’ individual websites. this saves both
you and South Meck time and money!
Students can send transcripts electronically via CFnC.org through an exclusive agreement with the nC
Department of Public Instruction. Students can securely send official high school transcripts (current
and final) from all schools that have converted to nCWISe. Official electronic high school transcripts
can be requested by the student in two ways:
1. After submitting an online application to any of the 110 colleges or universities in north
Carolina.
2. Directly from CFnC.org’s transcript Manager. All 110 institutions in nC accept the electronic
high school transcript in addition to the application for admission from CFnC.org.
In order to send electronic transcripts via CFnC.org, the student must meet the following criteria:
• Be currently enrolled or have graduated from a participating public high school in nC
• Have correctly entered the following information in the Profile and/or online admissions
application:
1. First and name
2. CMS Student ID
3. Date of Birth
4. Gender
5. Current High School
6. e-mail address
Please note the following:
• A successfully requested transcript should be received by the college within 1-3 business days
• Colleges/Universities may take up to 3 weeks to process before they are officially recorded as
received.
Students can track all online applications and electronic high school transcript activity at CFnC.org
through the transcript Manager at http://www1.cfnc.org/externalScripts/My_CFnC/transcripts.asp.
Seeking South Meck Alumni and interested parents who want to make a difference!!
- The School Leadership Team is in the early stages of creating a foundation to support our teachers. A fewother area high schools have initiated the All-Star Teacher Initiative whose goal is “provide stipends forclassroom supplies, pay for teachers to take classes and workshops, host gatherings to build team spirit andotherwise show support for faculty.” The funding would come from donations and matching grants fromalumni.- Currently, we are seeking SM alumni or other parents who are interested in learning more about being partof a team to get such a foundation up and running.
If interested, please contact : Kym Furney, [email protected] or
Jane Williamson, [email protected]

5 Reasons Why Hollywood Chose South Meckfor “Ashby” Film . . . ProbablyHollywood is all about image. And no high school in Charlotte projects a betterimage than South Meck High. Read the Charlotte Observer story here
2. If called on, Coach White could step in and perform Mickey Rourke’s stunts.
5. no football team in north Carolina looks better in pads than the Sabres. Yes, that includes Cam and
the Panthers.
1. Hollywood without glamour is like twitter without photos. And which high school is the most glam-
orous in the Queen City? Hey, don’t blame South Meck—Hollywood thinks so.
3. to create what it does, Hollywood has to draw young people. not just any young people either. ex-
citing young people who are full of life. Are there any young people more exciting than student fans at
a Sabres football game? Hollywood thinks not.
3. Hollywood characters are supposed to have all the adventures for everybody in America. You can’t
have adventures in a setting without adventure. South Meck High is an adventure in education. Dr.
Furr can confirm that btw.
