5 Places in Lucknow that One Must Visit Lucknow, a city best known for elaborate cuisines, Chikankaari (an exquisite embroidery on sheer muslin cloth), rich culture, very fine hospitality and mannerism also known as Adab and Tehzeeb, beautiful gardens, and Kathak (a classical dance form), is the capital of the state of Uttar Pradesh. • Chhota Imambara - it is an imposing-beautiful mausoleum built in year 1837 on the orders of the third Nawab of Avadh. To describe it in simple words, it is simply a magnificent structure showcasing the superlative architecture that can still get visitors mesmerized.

• Bara Imambara and Bhool Bhulaiya - it is a large interesting tomb complex, which is more than 300 years old. The place also houses a labyrinth. One can easily spend half a day wondering and admiring the magnificent Mughal architecture.

• Buddha Park - it is a small grassy park adjacent to noisy congested road. There is a statue of Buddha, that gives the park its name. The park is the perfect getaway in the city to take a break from the hustle-bustle of city life.

• La Martiniere College - it is a popular boys college. The building is also known as Constantia and is one of the oldest colleges in the nation, built in year 1845. The good thing is the building is very well maintained and hence hasn't lost its glory. This building has been featured in several Indian movies.

• Deva Shariff - it is a major attraction of city tourism and is one of the most visited place in the list of places to visit in Lucknow. It is a worshipping place and people from different religions gather in this place, symbolizing world brotherhood, love, and unity.
