INTRODUCTIONIt takes only small steps to make a big difference.
Creating a new, climate-friendly energy future is a daunting task. But in reality,
small steps by many people will change the world and protect the planet.
We made a short list of the things you can do today to make a difference.
Many of the items listed below will save you money too. That’s right—you
might even make a little green by being green
Set and forget it. A programmable
thermostat reduces energy use by adjusting
temperatures while you sleep or when
you’re not home. Keep your home at 68 in
the winter and 72 in the summer— just a few
degrees can save you more than 10 percent
on your heating bill.
Put the bottle down. Bottled water and
other highly packaged items contribute to
landfills and emissions. Filter systems are
cleaner and cheaper. Ninety percent of the
cost of bottled water goes to the cap and
bottle, making it 240 to 10,000 times more
expensive than that of tap water!

Aarey Dairy
Information of Dairy :
History : Aarey Milk Colony was established in year 1949. On 04.03.1951 Central
Dairy, Aarey was inaugurated by auspicious hand of then Prime Minister of India
Shri. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The Central Dairy, Aarey was
constructed for processing and packing of milk which wascollected from Aarey Milk Colony and to supply same to
consumer of Mumbai city. This Dairy is pioneer of it's kind in
entire Asia. After 1970 milk produced in mofussil area was also
received in this dairy. It distribut
es milk in Western Suburbs of Mumbai City.
Aarey Milk Colony: Aarey Milk Colony was established in 1949 to transfer the
milch animals from Mumbai. About 1287 hectors of land was acquired to
construct 32 cattle farms. Each cattle farm has 500 to 550 animals to rear
scientifically. On average about 16,000 cattles are reared. Apart from this AareyMilk Colony has a Nursery which also sells the seeds, grafts and plants. Each
month per animal licensing fees, water, electricity charges are recovered from the
licensee. Aarey Milk Colony has observation post, picnic point etc., facilities for
the citizens.
During Second World War to prevent of malnutrition pregnant ladies and children
due to food shortage, Municipal Corporation of Mumbai started milk distribution
system. Each female used to get half litre of milk. This scheme was operational till
1946. After that Civil Supply Department was operating this scheme.
As there were no facilities for boiling the milk, raw milk was supplied to British
soldiers, officers, and employees. They were not used to drink raw milk which
created health problem for them. The cattle sheds of Mumbai were in unhygienic
conditions and rearing/nursing of cattle was done in unscientific ways. Due to this
health problems surfaced in the nearby locality. To rehabilitate cattle shed of
Mumbai in a more scientific way and to encourage clean milk production, in the
year 1949, Aarey Milk Colony was established.
A total of 16,000 buffaloes from Mumbai were shifted in 30 cattle farms at Aarey

Milk Colony. To enable the citizens to get the pasteurized milk, in the year 1951Asia’s first dairy at Aarey was established. The head of Dairy Development
Department was the Milk Commissioner. To ensure the steady progress of
Dairying, the Government established Dairy Development Department in the year
1958. From 1960, milk from rural areas was collected and supplied to the urbanareas to process this milk other Worli Dairy established in the year 1961 and Kurla
Dairy was established in the year 1975. On the same note, Government Chilling
Centres and Government Milk schemes were established in other districts. In the
year 1960, about 1 LLPD(lakh ltrs. per day) of milk was procured and today the
figure goes up to 35 LLPD.

SUNDARAM PAPER
So why does saving paper even matter?
For starters, the pulp and paper industry is the third largest consumer of energy and uses more
water to produce a ton of product than any other industry. In 2005, out of 245,000,000 tons of
waste 34.2% was paper according to the EPA. That is over 83,300,000 tons of paper that iswasted every year.
When I first heard about Blog Action Day I knew this was a way that everyone, including
designers, could easily help the environment.
About 20,000,000 trees are cut down annually for virgin paper used for production of books in
the US alone. So think green and save the environment while saving yourself some money by
using less paper.
What can You do to Kill Paper Waste instead of Trees?
1. Buy Recycled Paper, Duh
7/30/2019 5 Enviormental Measure Taken by Organisation
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/5-enviormental-measure-taken-by-organisation 16/16
According to the City of Seattle a ton of paper made from recycled paper, as opposed to
virgin paper, saves the equivalent of 4,100 kilowatt hours of energy, 7000 gallons of
water, 60 pounds of air emissions, and 3 cubic yards of landfill space.
2. Check Your Work to Avoid Printing Copies that Have to Be Thrown Away Make sure to spell check your work, and even read over it on screen. Use the Print
Preview feature to preview your work to make sure everything lines up correctly.3. Use the Print Range feature to Print Only what You Need
You can use the Print range feature available in most programs to print only the exact
pages or the selected text that you need.
4. Don’t Throw Away Your Mis-prints, Keep it as Draft Paper You can keep paper that you may have printed earlier which you no longer need, and
print on the blank side instead of throwing it way like I am sure we have all done before.
You can even use it to jot down notes for yourself instead of wasting Post it notes.
5. Make Use of Double Sided Printing It’s actually pretty simple. First print the odd pages by editing the Print range after
pressing Ctrl+P. Then flip the pages over and put them back in the paper tray. Then just
print the even pages by editing the Print range once again.6. Avoid Printed Envelope Labels, And Print Directly on to the Envelope
Save paper by avoiding printing addresses on to labels, only to turn around and stick that
label on an envelope. It is very easy to addresses and more right onto the label using
Microsoft Word or other word processing programs.
7. Send Documents via eMail or eFax Although you may not always be able to, try to send stuff via email whenever possible. If
you are going to fax something, many times people never use the functionality of many
printers which allows for eFax. With eFax you don’t have to print something out just to
stick in the fax machine and then throw it away when your done.
