INTRODUCTION
Following the remarked growth in the number of firms operating in the
Nigerian Insurance market over the years, it became very clear that there
existed a wide gap in the quality of support services offered the industry in the
area of technical training and manpower development.
FAS Consultants FASCON was established in January 1993 to promote
technical and management education to both insurance practitioners and
consumers of Insurance services.
Our courses are designed to provide and complement the technical knowledge
of participants with a view to enhancing their performance on the job. In
addition, we design comprehensive, practical, challenging and stimulating
Management Development Programmes for Managers of the various sectors
of the Nigerian economy.
The services rendered by our Consultancy and Personnel Recruitment
Divisions make us a complete consultancy outfit in every respect.

C. EXECUTIVE SEARCH, RECRUITMENT AND PLACEMENT
DIVISION
FASCON undertakes recruitment and placement of various cadres of
Insurance and other personnel for the operators of the insurance industry and
other sectors of the Nigerian economy. Our knowledge of the market and its
personnel, makes FASCON the company to talk to in this area.
D. RISK MANAGEMENT/SURVEY
This division undertakes risk management and property survey services.
CATEGORIES OF TRAINING PROGRAMMES
Courses undertaken are in three main areas:
l. SHORT-TERM/REGULAR/WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS
These are short-term courses organized for the various cadres of staff. They
are either:
a. Technical Courses and/or
b. Management /Leadership / Marketing Courses

handbook.
2. TAILOR MADE IN PLANT TRAINING
In addition to our regular open workshops, FASCON, is involved in the design
and presentation of in-house tailor made programmes for underwriting houses,
insurance brokers, loss adjusters and insured organisations.
Banks and other financial institutions who are interested in insurance,
marketing, leadership, computer and management education can also benefit
from our over twenty four years of experience in training and manpower
development.
3. SEMINARS/CONFERENCES
Our organization has become very popular for organizing timely Seminars on
current issues in the society including Insurance Consumers' Forum and
Accountants/Auditors Seminar.
THE MANAGEMENT TEAM
The management team is led by Mr. Felix Adebayo Samagbeyi.
Mr. Samagbeyi is a seasoned administrator, an author, outstanding scholar, an
insurance technocrat and a trained and a highly experienced trainer.
'Bayo holds a National Diploma in insurance, a Bsc degree in Insurance from
the University of Lagos and a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile - Ife. He is a Fellow of the
Chartered Insurance Institute, London.
He started his insurance career in 1982 when He worked with Landway
Insurance Brokers. He has worked with Hogg Robinson Nigeria, Time
Insurance Brokers, Eco-Pillar Insurance. He left in November, 1992 to start
FASCON.
Mr. Samagbeyi has been involved in training insurance personnel since 1987
as one of the founders of Klass Insurance Training Centre, Maryland, Lagos.
He was at a time a part time lecturer at the Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo. He
has presented papers at many seminars, workshops and conferences.
PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATION
A. THE FACULTY: In addition to our consulting and teaching faculty,
facilitators are carefully selected from eminent practicing underwriters,
brokers, financial consultants and other experienced and seasoned
management experts. They will blend theory with their wealth of experience
and expose participants to practical cases, which will be most useful in their
daily assignments.

B. TEACHING METHOD: The syllabuses of the various courses are
covered by formal lectures, group discussions, international and local case
studies as well as practical exercises, games and role-playing. Tutorial notes
are given to course participants for reference. Films and other Audio-Visual
Aids are used extensively to illustrate various points, techniques and skills.
C. COURSE VENUE: Our venues offer accessible and conducive
environment for learning supported by superb catering services including
some five star hotels.
D. COURSE FEES: The fees charged by FASCON vary with the nature
and level of courses, duration and venue. The fees for each of our programme
are stated in the Brochure. They are subject to changes. Such changes would
however be communicated early to minimize any inconveniences.
The fees cover tuition, course materials, Workshop bag, Stationery as well as
Lunch, Coffee/Tea and Snacks. Participants are expected to settle their hotel
bills for non-residential courses.
E. AWARD OF TRAINING COURSE CERTIFICATE: Course
Certificates are awarded at the end of each Workshop or Seminars. To qualify
for a certificate, a Trainee must satisfy the In-House Course attendance
requirements.

Course fees shall be settled by Bank Draft or cheque. It is advisable that both
the Nomination form and the course fee reach FASCON not later than two
days before the commencement date of each course. Please note that
registration is on the basis of first come first served because of the limited
space available for an effective programme.
G. INDUSTRIAL TRAINING FUND
FASCON is a registered member of the NIGERIAN INSTITUTE FOR
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT (NITAD) with CERTIFICATE NO
1389. It is therefore easy for our clients to obtain refund from ITF.
H. CANCELLATION: Sponsors are to note that it is our
organization's policy to charge 20% of course fees for cancellation made
before three days before the commencement of any programme to cover
administrative costs. The full fees may be forfeited if a participant fails to
attend the course without due notice.
I. CHANGES IN OUR TRAINING PLAN
