General Description of the biome
• A Temperate rain forest is a forest that loses its color and the leaves fall off its branches .It has some of the largest trees in the world.

Description of Typical Plants
• Stinging Nettle: Common for its sting from leaves.
• Salmon Berry: Related to the raspberry and blackberry

• Indian Paintbrush: Wild flower that grows at Temperate forests in British Columbia.

• Douglas fir: Hardwood tree. One of the tallest trees in the world. It can grow up to 280 feet.

• Salmon berry: Related to the raspberry and blackberry. Orange and red berries. It is also edible.
Typical animals
• Mammals that live in a temperate rainforest include: Roosevelt elk, black-tailed deer, cougar, black bear, river otter, Douglas squirrel, jumping mouse, and shrew. Birds include: western robin, winter wren, pileated woodpecker, gray jay, junco, and raven.
Douglas Squirrel
• A douglas squirrel is a squirrel found in the temperate rain forest. Its diet consists of nuts and green cones.
Olympic Marmot
• An Olympic Marmot is an animal that hibernates in winter and eats mostly roots when it comes out of hibernation until new plants grow in the spring then they eat grass, herbs, mosses and flowers and the occasional insect.
Roosevelt Elk
• The elk eats a variety of grasses. It also eats leaves and shrubs from shrubs tree and bushes.
