It is the conversation all men wish they had before becoming men.

Women Only: Girls, Let’s Talk!Facilitator: Tish NormanMeeting Room: 5This journey empowers sorority women to redefine themselves with respect, humility, refinement, and a positive self-image. An honest dialogue is created about what really defines womanhood. Explore personal characteristics and be challenged to reexamine behaviors that lead to improve effectiveness personally & through your organization.

Understand the difference between being rich and wealthy. Learn how to establish and maintain your financial future even as an undergraduate and understand the pitfalls to avoid as you mature financially.

Session I: WKS 5 The Historical Impact of Black Sororities on Black Women Facilitator: Tamara HoffMeeting Room: 6Take a journey through history that looks at the educational history of the earliest Black women and how they impacted the campus through their sororal and other organizational affiliations.

Session II: WKS 1 Still Strolling? Section 5 & D9 The Voters Right AftermathFacilitator: Ernest RobinsonMeeting Room: 2In 2013, almost 50 years after being enacted, key provisions

of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 were struck down by the US Supreme Court. Be engaged on what this means and in what ways D9 organizations can impact change and empower communities through social justice and uplift.

Session II: WKS 2 I Am Hip-Hop: A History of the Hip-Hop Movement & Rap MusicFacilitator: Lasana HotepMeeting Room: 3Rap music is a multibillion-dollar industry! However, very few people know the history of hip-hop culture which spawned rap music. This presentation will cover the environment in which hip-hop was born, its 9 elements, & the story of how its movement spread throughout the United States and the globe.

Session II: WKS 3 Academic Excellence: The Cornerstone of SuccessFacilitator: Sharrell Hassell-GoodmanMeeting Room: 4Scholarship translates into academic achievement and success. However, multi-cultural Greek-Letter chapters are often not achieving the All-University GPA average. Learn how to develop a chapter scholarship plan to help support the academic success of your members.

Session II: WKS 4 “N**** on the Yard”: An Experiential Learning Activity StudyFacilitator: Bryant SmithMeeting Room: 5This is an experiential learning activity where participants will be assigned roles as they examine the various sides of a controversial issue, discuss

the historical foundation of the word and try to predict the next cultural shift. Based on several real life situations. Strong language content

Session II: WKS 5 No More Drama: Conflict Management & ResolutionFacilitator: Christopher IrvingMeeting Room: 6Conflicts are often compounded in Greek Life due to varying attitudes and behaviors towards membership intake, different perspectives on recruitment techniques and general stereotypical perceptions of each other. Explore and analyze these issues and concerns and the impact they have on each respective organization, Greek Life and the campus-at-large.

Session III: WKS 1 The Dirty Greek Word: Recruiting – Why Don’t We Recruit?Facilitator: Kate Butler andSharrell Hassell-GoodmanMeeting Room: 2The health, legacy, and continuance of a chapter depend on how well it can identify, select, and induct new members. Learn of the ways in which BGLO’s sabotage the recruitment process and strategies to recruiting the best and the brightest candidates on your campus.

Session III: WKS 2 Does Greek Unity Really Exist?Facilitator: Earnest EvansMeeting Room: 3This workshop will facilitate a discussion amongst Divine Nine members about real unity within the NPHC. It will also discuss ways in which they improve unity back on campus.

Session III: WKS 3 The Do Better Greek-Letter WorkshopFacilitator: Bryant SmithMeeting Room: 4 How can we do better? Review real world case studies to better understand the rights and responsibilities of being part of a brother- or sisterhood while answering a series of questions about your experience. You will leave empowered with action steps to improve yourself and your chapter.

Session III: WKS 4 Tap Dancing Without Shoes: The History of Stepping and the Impact on Greek LifeFacilitator: Rick DanielsMeeting Room: 5Tap Dancing Without Shoes chronicles the history of the art form known as “Stepping” and its impact on the Greek community and popular culture and sets the record straight on the history of one of the world’s most exciting, dynamic and historical art forms.

Session III: WKS 5 The UNSTOPPABLE Leader!Facilitator: Steve BirdineMeeting Room: 6Gain “hands on” leadership development on a number of topics: diversity, defining leadership, courage, unity, expectations, motivation, creativity, goal setting, honesty, focus, and more! You will be

asked the difficult questions that require a shifting of your thinking and actions!

Session IV: School Haze: The Evolution of Pledging, Hazing, & Membership IntakeFacilitator: Rasheed Ali Cromwell, Esq.Meeting Room: Mount Vernon SquareThis is a comprehensive multi-media presentation with breakout groups and interactive activities that covers the cultural, historical, legal and social impacts of hazing. Additionally, the session provides proactive short term and long term solutions for participants to reduce violence and eliminate destructive behavior.
