What is LTE

4G LTE is an emerging technology standard that is being developed by 3GPP.

LTE is designed to meet

carrier needs for high-speed data and media transport as well as high-capacity voice support well into the next decade.

It encompasses high-speed data, multimedia unicast and multimedia broadcast services.

LTE not only helps realize a true mobile broadband experience nearly anywhere, it also allows you to introduce new exciting services, such as video blogging, video on demand, media mobility, online gaming, and others. LTE brings a significantly improved business proposition, offering 2.5 times capacity, lower cost per bit, spectrum flexibility, flat IP architecture, end-to-end QoS.

what makes LTE different?

LTE delivers on two separate axes. Traditionally, new network technologies have focused mainly on improved performance. LTE however, not only delivers substantial performance improvements, but also creates new business models

With expected throughput in excess of 100Mbps and latency lower than 10ms, LTE will provide subscribers with a user experience very comparable to what they have at home today with xDSL and cable connections.

High Definition (HD) video streaming will be possible with LTE, in addition LTE will also enable ―Video Blogging‖, or the ability to upload video content to social networking sites because of high uplink throughput

Finally, LTE offers full end-to-end QoS (Quality of services) to promote new value added, and higher priority applications and services. For example,

LTE Supports multicast/broadcast services in a cellular system

Same content is transmitted to multiple users located in a specific

area (MBMS service area) in a unidirectional fashion

MBMS extends existing 3GPP architecture by introducing:

MBMS Bearer Services

delivers IP multicast datagrams to multiple receivers using minimum

radio and network resources and provides an efficient and scalable

means to distribute multimedia content to mobile phones

MBMS User Services

streaming services - a continuous data flow of audio and/or video is

delivered to the user’s handset

download services - data for the file is delivered in a scheduled

As per technical evaluation, FDD LTE and TDD LTE is very similar only the difference is that in FDD LTE Full duplex(dedicated channel for DL and UL ) mode is used for Transmission and in TDD LTE one channel for both DL and UL

FDD is natural choice for delay sensitive applications like surveillance cameras, e-Learning, video conferencing etc

Because……

In TDD LTE R/T converter(receive to Transmit) is used and in FDD LTE duplexer is used , insertion losses are more in TDD LTE because of R/T converter compare to Duplexer in FDD LTE

In addition TDD LTE delay is higher then FDD LTE that makes FDD LTE natural choice for Delay sensitive and real time applications

Newroz Tel plan to use LTE technology for video surveillance and security to government organization, Hospitals and public Places

Importance: The video surveillance security system is essential in Protecting and monitoring the public and private places and properties like home

LTE- enabled IP camera, which enables a wide range of applications including security surveillance, home automation and energy management, each with all real-time video and data accessible through mobile handsets, Laptops and a Web portal.

LTE indoor/outdoor camera can be easily deployed anywhere with 4G LTE coverage and an AC power source, such as Government Offices, Hospitals, commercial parking lots, railroads, and pipelines, without worrying about wiring or Wi-Fi network installation.

These LTE-enabled cameras can also be installed on police vehicles, school buses or other public transportation to provide real-time video surveillance to a central control station and law enforcement professionals.

LTE UE embedded with IP CCTV (camera) :The LTE UE embedded with IP CCTV (camera) will enable wireless IP CCTV solution ,It can be used in Government offices, Highways, buses and trains, other transport system for live video surveillance.

Hence this will improve the security system and also minimizing the deployment cost since for this system deployment the wired cable and telephone line, wired installation mechanisms are not required.

LTE UE embedded with IP TV display : The LTE UE embedded with IP TV display will enable wireless IP TV (live video stream capture) solution ,It can be used by the security person to monitor the live video stream from Government buildings, Public places, buses and trains, other transport system.

The wireless IP TV shall request the service from ―control center for IP CCTV‖ where its collects all the live from wireless IP CCTVs. Hence this will improve the security system and also enables wireless IP TV solution.

Newroz Tel also have a aim to spread education using LTE wireless technology.

E-Learning means "electronic learning" — it refers to a wide range of applications and processes designed to deliver instruction through electronic means. Usually this means over the Web, however it also can include CD-ROM or video-conferencing through satellite or wireless transmission like LTE. The definition of E-learning is broader than, but includes, "online learning," "Web-based training," and "computer-based training." Most importantly, it signals the paradigm shift in education and training that is in progress.

LTE for e-Learning or m-Learning

LTE offers a wide range of possible uses via ultra high-speed broadband like Flying Classroom with several PCs that use video conference software to engage remotely with students and teachers in partner schools. With PCs and Smartboards interlinked, students can work simultaneously on documents. LTE technology has made instant, high-quality video communication possible between the students and teachers

LTE technology can offer broadband connectivity to take e-Education.

With the growing availability of mobile technologies specially LTE because of High data rate, on-line learning environments will need, increasingly, to encompass ubiquitous learning facilities

Handheld devices(laptops, PDA etc) with Internet access provide an opportunity for developers to explore and implement e-learning environments. The addition of the mobile component can extend the availability of the desktop environment, and exploit specifically mobile technologies for identifiable educational aims.

required to start such projects

As real time Multimedia applications need more bandwidth

and If we consider different usage case scenarios shown in

below figure, the bandwidth requirement will increase to

deliver good quality of services with reliability
