Preface

It was a great experience to have a visit to Parle Company which is being started 50 years ago. It is a private company started in 1928 in Mumbai. It’s branch had developed in bhuj after earthquake for the beneficial of tax free for coming ten years, which would raise company at the top. It produces only some of the products in this branch which are been supplied within the area and out side Kutch. It produces mostly it’s main product Parle-G, krackjack and Monaco.

Parle intends to be the Starbuck’s brand of the Promotional Marketing Industry by 2010 By making it easy, convenient and fun for companies to choose promotional marketing products and services, Parle helps solve the customer’s need for recognition, communication, motivation and promotions.

History :-

In 1929 a small company by the name of Parle products emerged in British

dominated India. The intent was to spread joy and cheer to children and adults

alike, all over the country with its sweets and candies. The company knew that it

wouldn’t be an easy task, but they decided to take the brave step. A small factory

was set up in the suburbs of Mumbai, to manufacture sweets and toffees. A

decade later it was upgraded to manufacture biscuits as well. Since then, the

Parle name has grown in all directions, won international fame and has been

sweetening people's lives all over India and abroad.

Apart from the factories in Mumbai and Bangalore Parle also has factories in

Bahadurgarh in Haryana and Neemrana in Rajasthan, which are the largest biscuit

and confectionery plants in the country. Additionally, Parle Products also has 7

manufacturing units and 51 manufacturing units on contract.

About company :-

Parle Products has been India's largest manufacturer of biscuits and

confectionery, for almost 80 years. Makers of the world's largest selling biscuit,

Parle-G, and a host of other very popular brands, the Parle name symbolizes

quality, nutrition and great taste. With a reach spanning even the remotest

villages of India , the company has definitely come a very long way since its

inception.

There are about 10,000 labour work in parle. And there are many department

in the parle like purchase, sales, store department, HR department, packing

department etc. Many of the Parle products - biscuits or confectioneries, are

market leaders in their category and have won acclaim at the Monde Selection,

since 1971. With a 40% share of the total biscuit market and a 15% share of the

total confectionary market in India , Parle has grown to become a multi-million

dollar company. While to consumers it's a beacon of faith and trust, competitors

look upon Parle as an example of marketing brilliance.

2. MANUFACTURING AND

PRODUCTION PROCESS

1) Production process (Flow Chart) of BISCUITs :-

The process of making the biscuit is:

a) First the flour and sugar is mixed in the machine;

b) Then it is baked in the machine, about more than 500 biscuits are being made at a time.

c) Secondly the biscuits are divided in some quantity as per the gram, around 15 biscuits which can be packed.

d) Then it is packed by the machine, firstly the corners of the acket are folded then the other sides are being folded.

e) Thirdly the packed biscuit is ready to be sold.

3)Use of Technology OR Machinery:-

The Machinery is been manufactured by the company itself . The new and developed, new tachniches are been accepted and recommended by the company only spare parts are been imported by the company.

Software Used In Factory :-

a) Parle use the software of Oracle as Database.

b) Oracle has a Home product Pranade, DUK Developer 2000.

c) Open Database connectivity is used to connect Oracle and VB, to make relationship.

d) The backup of the whole management has its centralization in Bangkok.

4)Quality Control :

Hygiene is the precursor to every process at Parle. From husking the wheat and melting the sugar to delivering the final products to the supermarkets and store shelves nationwide, care is taken at every step to ensure the best product of long-lasting freshness. Every batch of biscuits and confectioneries are thoroughly checked by expert staff, using the most modern equipment hence ensuring the same perfect quality across the nation and abroad.

Concentrating on consumer tastes and preferences, the Parle brand has grown from strength to strength ever since its inception. The factories at Bahadurgarh in Haryana and Neemrana in Rajasthan are the largest biscuit and confectionery plants in the country. The factory in Mumbai was the first to be set up, followed soon by the one in Bangalore, Karnataka. Parle Products also has 14 manufacturing units for biscuits and 5 manufacturing units for confectioneries, on contract.

Wheat Flour, Sugar, Partially Hydrogenated Edible Vegetable Oils, Invert Syrup*, Leavening Agents [ 503 ( ii ), 500 ( ii ) ], Salt, Milk Solids, Emulsifiers [ 322 or 471 & 481 ( i ) ] and Dough Conditioners [ 223 ]. Contains Added Flavors (Artificial).* (d - Glucose, Levulose)

b) Material used for Sweets:

Sugar, Liquid Glucose, DL Malic Acid (296), Artificial Orange/ Mango/ Peach Orange/ Melon/ Banana/ Pineapple/ Grape/ Black Currant/ Strawberry/ Lemon/ Apple flavour, Vegetable Oils (Partially Hydrogenated Soyabean and Palm Oil), Edible Starch, Sunset Yellow FCF (E 110)/ Tartrazine (E 102)/ Brilliant Blue FCF (133)/ Carmosine (E 122)-

Parle is currently seeking 2 talented, qualified and experienced sales and marketing account executives to join our award winning team. We require at least 3 years of promotional marketing selling experience or equivalent. Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and extremely creative with approach. Must be capable to understand the client’s objectives and produce results through creative and effective use of promotional products.

Customer Service Rep:-

You must be technically savvy, well organized and have excellent communication skills. Experience in promotional marketing or printing is helpful. Must be personable and efficient and a problem solver. Must be willing and able to help sales people and customers and work with vendors on an ongoing basis.
