Product DescriptionThe 475 Field Communicator isdesigned to simplify your work inthe field. The intuitive full coloruser interface allows you toleverage the same practices forboth HART and FOUNDATIONfieldbus devices. It includes alarger touch screen than PDAsor Pocket PCs, supports HARTversions 5, 6, and 7 (includingWirelessHART™) devices, andallows you to upgrade your 475Field Communicator onsite usingthe Internet.

See and Feel the DifferenceThe touch screen display usestransflective technology, making iteasy to read in both bright sunlight

and normal lighting. To make sureall conditions are covered, amulti-level backlight is included,allowing bright, crisp display evenin plant areas with dim light.

The touch screen display and largephysical navigation buttons providefor efficient use both on the benchand in the field.

The full color graphics capability isprovided as standard with every475 Field Communicator. It usespowerful EDDL technology to allowyou to read data from field devicesin a graphical manner. Charts,graphs, gauges, and productimages are just a few of the waysin which important device data canbe displayed using the 475 FieldCommunicator’s color LCD display.

The weight of the 475 FieldCommunicator is evenlydistributed for comfortableone-handed operation in the field.It runs on Windows CE, a robust,real-time operating system.

The 475 Field Communicatorhas plenty of memory to allow forfuture expansion. It has 32 MB ofapplication memory and 1 GB ofmemory on its System Card.

User UpgradeableEasy Upgrade Keeps YourCommunicator CurrentThe 475 Field Communicator isuser upgradeable via the Internet.Avoid the time delays of sendingyour communicator to a servicecenter for upgrades. With theEasy Upgrade option, you candownload new device drivers,functionality, or licenses directlyto your 475 Field Communicator.Keeping your 475 FieldCommunicator updated is easy.

New HART and FOUNDATIONfieldbus devices, as well asfunctional updates to existingdevices, are introduced continuallyby device vendors. Keepingup-to-date with the requiredDevice Descriptions (DDs) for allthe devices in your plant can bea real challenge.

With Easy Upgrade, when newHART and FOUNDATION fieldbusDDs become available, you cansimply download them from theInternet and upgrade your 475Field Communicator. Update atyour site, within your control,when it’s convenient for you.

Designed not only for use on the bench, the 475 Field Communicator alsoenables you to do those tasks that just have to be done in the field.
