RCIA (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) begins Wed., Sept 19, 6:30 pm, in the Holy Family Room. It is designed for non-Catholics and allows seekers to examine the Catholic Faith more closely. Each fall we have sessions exploring Catholic teachings and discovering what it means to be a Catholic Christian. Discussions about our worship, traditions, structure and beliefs are included. Some come to this class to gain more understanding of the Catholic religion. Others come intending to become a member. It is important that people feel free to attend whether they decide to become Catholic or not. Contact Theresa Paul, Faith Formation Office, [email protected], for more info.

Abuse and the Catholic Church - With all the recent revelations regarding the abuse of minors and vulnerable adults in the Church, it is important to be aware of the protection programs we have in place within the Diocese of Spokane. Our comprehensive effort involves trainings for all Church personnel, age appropriate training for children, background checks, a Code of Conduct, and an entire department at the Chancery dedicated to maintaining a safe environment for our young people. Every parish in the diocese has a Safe Environment Coordinator. Theresa Paul fills that role for our parish. It is important to note that if you suspect abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult, contact local law enforcement immediately. If you would like to know more about what our diocese is doing to protect young people, log on to www.DioceseofSpokane.org and click on the “Office of Child and Youth Protection” link.
