June 1, 2016 Dear Volunteers and Esteemed Guests, As we complete our 43rd year, we face a new challenge. More than ever before, our local community non-profit agencies continue to require our volunteers to keep in pace with the continued demand to serve our county. Our Volunteer base is changing and with people working well into their 70’s we see that volunteerism takes a back seat to employment. Yet, there is still hope that people in our community can find the time to do both. Our new focus for volunteer recruitment will be to garner all of the volunteers who can in any way become involved to help our community thus continuing to provide much needed assistance to the residents of Sullivan County. With our county focus being on improving our health statistics we endeavor to maintain our mission to focus on Healthy Living with the RSVP Program ensuring that our Medical transportation program continues to provide much needed transportation to medical appointments for our ever growing senior population. Our medical transport drivers provided over 1,177 rides to medical appointments, serving our fastest growing population; our frail and elderly. Without RSVP volunteers serving in Medical Transport, Meals on Wheels and “Touchstone” programs, our homebound seniors would not be able to maintain their health and continue to live in their homes and age in place. Our Sullivan County Legislature and Local Community Leaders continue to be steadfast in their support of the RSVP project. They fully recognize the value of the service provided by our volunteers to the community. Their support and continued financial commitment helps our volunteers carry on their dedicated service. “Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has…” ~Margaret Mead
